Bill Moore is a friend, a father and even a war hero. But while he may have witnessed the horrors of war, nothing could prepare him for what someone found in the sleeve of a record in a thrift store. It was a letter he wrote during World War II to his love, Bernadean.

"I was really surprised," he told reporters. "I had no way of knowing it would show up in the way it did, and it would actually reach me." Now, at the age of 90, Bill was able to look back at the heartfelt words he wrote 70 years ago.

"My darling, lovable, alluring Bernadean," the letter reads. "I ran out of space, but I could have written a lot more adjectives describing you. You are so lovely, darling, that I often wonder how it is possible that you are mine."

The letter was written in 1945 and was found in a thrift store in Colorado. The letter means the world to Bill and provides a unique window into his past. "I'm really the luckiest guy in the world, you know," the letter continues, "and you are the reason."

Considering that Bill was married to Bernadean until her death in 2010, this must have made for an incredibly emotional read. It's just a shame that he won't get to share it with her again.
