Some things in life just seem like no-brainers. Case in point: Nail polish. Dip the brush in the polish, apply the polish onto the nails with said brush, right? Wrong. Well, this is false in the case of glitter polishes. Have you ever bought a glitter lacquer that looked perfect in the bottle but then when you swipe it on your nail, it just looks like a clear coat with a few specks of shine on the top? We feel you. Thanks to this genius hack, your manicure can look just as you imagined when you bought the polish: A solid layer of pure glitter. You’re going to need a makeup sponge and some peel-away liquid latex. Watch and be amazed.
You’ve Been Applying Glitter Nail Polish Wrong Your Entire Life
#1 The shiny stuff needs at least five coats before you get anywhere near the sparkle in the bottle.
But what if we told you that you'd been applying it wrong your entire life?
Well, actually that is the case.
A beauty blogger called Kelli Marissa has shared a simple and super effective nail tutorial on YouTube, and it puts all other nail tutorials to shame.
This is a step-by-step process and you’ll need a few things:
base coat
liquid latex
glitter polish
a make-up sponge
top coat
#2 Step one: Start off by applying a clear base coat.
#3 Step two: then put some liquid latex around it
#4 Step three: Put some glitter nail polish on to the corner of a small sponge. You will find out why.
#5 Step four: PAT the glitter onto your nail using the sponge.
Apply it in layers to build up a fully opaque coverage. You never thought it would be this easy, did you?
The glitter won’t pool in some areas and leave others completely bare either, and you’ll probably only need one coat.
#6 Step five: Finish with a topcoat. Beautiful, right?

Kelli explains that your nails dry really quickly and the finished look is so much nicer than the way everyone regularly does it.
And it's safe to say the new information has gone down a storm with fans.
"Just casually changed my life," commented one dramatic fan, while another added: "How come I've never though of that. Brilliant!"
We know what we'll be doing tonight.
