'Disappointed Beyond Words': Amber Heard Releases Statement After Trial Verdict

The jury has finally reached a verdict in the Depp-Heard case in favor of Johnny Depp, citing that Heard will be liable to pay Johnny Depp $15 million in defamation charges.

She has since released a statement expressing her disappointment.

In a tweet, she says, "I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband,"

She continues to add, "I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously."

"I believe Johnny's attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the UK."

The Depp Heard case has finally concluded after 12 hours of deliberation by the jury over the course of three days.

The court case itself went on for 6 weeks and quickly became one of the most-watched trials of the generation rivaling the OJ Simpson case.

Heard also won on one count which awarded her $2 million.

Johnny Depp is yet to release a statement and is presumed to still be in the UK where he was recently playing a concert int he Royal Albert Hall
