"Supergirl" Star Melissa Benoist And Blake Jenner Officially Divorced

"Supergirl" star Melissa Benoist filed for divorce nearly a year ago, the split attributed to irreconcilable differences. Benoist also didn't seek spousal support. She also requested to change her legal name back to Melissa Benoist.

According to the reports, the couple did not file with the court and also there is no issue as they are clear on who gets what after the divorce. Also, the couple has reportedly reached a property settlement agreement.

In accordance with the source, things were not working out between the couple because of the distance and that the divorce is amicable and mutual agreement between the two.

The couple first met on the set of musical series, "Glee" in 2012. In an interview, Jenner, who guest appeared in two episodes of "Supergirl," said, "I thought she was the bomb the second I saw her, so it was just super cool to be with her. Thankfully, we’ve had some scenes together. Because if we didn’t, I don’t think we would have had the time to get to know each other." The couple got engaged in 2013 and got married in spring 2015.

The couple does not bear any children together. The news of their split first came to light in December 2016. Since the news of split Benoist has been linked with costar Chris Wood who plays the role of her on-screen love interest in "Supergirl.".

In her interview in March 2016, Benoist speaking about Jenner said, "I love working with him. We only have fun working together. He’s my person to act with. He’s my favourite scene partner, always."

During the processing of divorce, the judge was made aware that all their issues have been resolved so there was no need of filing the case in court. The couple were last spotted together at an event in Toronto in September 2016.
