The organization does not believe in God or Satan so the members are essentially atheists. Their mission statement stresses that they don’t believe in a literal Satan.

Satanists do not sacrifice anything. Their rules strictly forbid harming any living creature. Exceptions can be made if it is killing for food or self-defense.
