Even if you haven't had one, I'm pretty sure we all know about near death experiences. It's common belief that when you come face-to-face with death, your entire life flashes before your eyes. This may be true, but whenever I hear someone say this I can't help but think about the unfortunate folks who have passed away at super young ages. They've barely experienced life yet it's taken away from them just like that. Several celebs have passed away in their youth and we tend to celebrate all of their legacies, but did you know that there are many celebs who ALMOST died at young ages? Here are few of them.

#1 Ryan Reynolds – This hunky actor almost died when he was 17. He was skydiving and his parachute failed to open!
#2 In his youth, director Martin Scorsese was quite the party animal. So much so that he nearly overdosed on cocaine in the seventies.

#3 Travis Barker – In 2008, Travis Barker was on a plane that was flying from South Carolina to California.
The plane crashed and four people even died.Barker somehow made it out alive, though seriously injured.
#4 Clint Eastwood – Eastwood hopped a ride on a bomber plane while doing his military service in the '50s.
The plane experienced major problems and crashed in the ocean in shark-infested water. Clint was forced to swim to safety.

#5 Rachel Bilson – The former star of The O.C. was in such a terrible car accident when she was 14 that she almost didn't make it.
In fact she still suffers from major migraines.

#6 Seth McFarlane – Believe it or not, MacFarlane was nearly on the first plane that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
However, after a night of heavy drinking and some confused scheduling by his assistant, he missed the flight.

She only narrowly escaped the smoke-filled room.

Had things gone just slightly worse, he may have died.
