Just because you can cook a mean meal in the kitchen doesn't mean you're a professional (but props to you anyway!). If there's anything I've learned these past few years, it's to never under estimate anyone who's worked in a kitchen, especially if they've made their way to chef or "chief." They work in a high pressure environment where they've literally seen it all, and they've got the tough skin to prove it.
To give you an idea, we've provided some anonymous confessions from chefs, pastry chefs, and others in the culinary world from the popular application Whisper below. Through their confessions, you can learn about some of their secrets and struggles, including tension with their bosses and dating problems. You can also learn about some of their pet peeves.
If you're interested in learning more, be sure to check out Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential, where he provides an unfiltered look at his journey from dishwasher to one of the world's most famous chefs and TV personalities.
#1 "Chef tired of his own food."
This is bound to happen, especially if you work in a place where your creativity is limited by budget and someone else's vision.

#5 "I'm only here for the food."
Hey, we're not judging. What's better than free food? Free food that you could make just the way you like it. You can control everything you put into it.
#6 New Year, New Me
Maybe next year, this chef should bet some money on it!
#7 Early Beginnings
I don't blame this person. The Easy-Bake Oven was the best gift I've ever received!

We all have our reasons for doing the things that we do. And hey, Ratatouille was an amazing film!
#9 Deal Breakers
Looks like this chef is anti-vegetarian. That's alright, there's someone for everyone.
#10 Coming Full Circle
Some people never forget where they came from. Humility is one of the best virtues out there.
#11 A Little Extra Help
If the quality of your work is good or even better, keep doing you.
#12 Note to all the freeloaders.
It isn't all about you. Respect someone's craft by supporting them instead of expecting it for free.
#13 A Tricky Situation
If your superior is willing to put other people's lives at risk, it's best to look somewhere else.
#14 Pizza and Ramen Diet
If it's a way of escaping yourself, we understand. If it's just because pizza and ramen are tasty, we understand that too.
#15 A Message to All the Haters
There isn't a certain way anyone is supposed to look. You can't always judge a book by its cover!
