In an ideal world, everyone's genitals would come with instruction manuals as thick as the ones that come in the glove compartment of your car. They'd be full of helpful diagrams and feature an entire chapter on the best way to give the owner an orgasm. But they don't exist, because human beings don't have a glove compartment (you could make a case for the butt effectively being a glove compartment but who wants to roll up an instruction manual and wedge it in there). The point is, there are proper and improper uses of your private parts. You're probably familiar with the proper uses. And hopefully you're OK with improper uses, but just in case you're not, here they are:
15 Things You Should Never Do To Your Private Parts!
#1 DO NOT ever put hair removal cream on it
#2 DO NOT steam it
Gwyneth Paltrow may endorse steaming your vagina to "balance female hormones", but gynaecologist and certified reproductive endocrinologist Dr Natasha Andreadis certainly doesn't.
"Whenever I think of steaming I think of the potential for burning. The skin in our vagina is the same as the skin on our face. Squamous epithelium. Sensitive. The last thing you want to do is burn it. It would seriously be awkward and hard to treat this area if was to become burnt," she says.
"I have no idea how this would balance your hormones."
#3 DO NOT forget to dry it after a shower
#4 DO NOT self-medicate
#5 DO NOT pierce it
Unsurprisingly, this is not something experts condone.
"Infection, bleeding and trauma during intercourse are just some of the dangers of vaginal piercings," says Dr Andreadis.
#6 DO NOT try to make it smell better
#7 DO NOT clean it with household cleaners
You might be tempted to treat the penis as if it was the countertop in your kitchen, but abrasive household cleaners are going to be harmful to the penis's integrity. Soap and water will do just fine, no matter how dirty the penis gets.
#8 DO NOT place a penis in a wall socket or toaster connected to a power source
As tempting as it might be, do not use a penis to loosen wall sockets or fish half a bagel out of your toaster. Always unplug toasters before doing this.
#9 DO NOT Measure
Be happy with what you have unless it is less than 3 inches when erect. Stop wondering about the size of your penis as it doesn't really mater how long it is for you to satisfy your partner.
#10 DO NOT Pull to make it long
If you feel that pulling your penis might increase its length, you are wrong because this has not been proven yet. And if you still feel like stretching it and do it enthusiastically, you might damage the muscles and tissues.
#11 DO NOT use penis enlargement products
If pulling your penis doesn't lead any results, the next go-to action is the use of penis enlargement products. However, not many people know that these products have hormones, vitamins and minerals and the companies don't tell you how they work! Will you still buy them?
#12 DO NOT leave it unclean after sex
Make it a habit to clean your penis after masturbation or sex. The fluids released during the act may be a breeding ground for bacteria. Instead of wiping it with a tissue, clean it with water.
#13 DO NOT Over wash
It is a good idea to keep your penis clean but not by over cleaning or washing it vigorously. The skin down there is delicate and there is a high chance of bruising due to friction. This in turn can put you at risk of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) including HIV.
#14 DO NOT Wear tight underwear
Tight briefs affect the blood flow to your genitals and also lower the production of sperms, making you infertile, according to reports in the Human Reproduction journal. Also, excessive sweating in your pubic region, increases your risk of infection.
#15 DO NOT Pierce your penis
Body art like tattoos and piercing can damage the penis and also increase your risk of sexually transmitted diseases (if the instruments are not sterile).
