#1 Jessica Alba

Although the Sin City starlet has a company that makes organic skin products for children called "The Honest Company," the fact that Jessica Alba has been caught puffing away has caused many to call her commitment to natural products and healthy living into question.

As a natural beauty, hopefully the wear and tear of the smokes won't take their toll and Jess can maintain her obvious gorgeous features. Again, hard to judge stars that bear the weight of immense fame when they light up a cigarette.

#2 Zinedine Zidane

Another famous footballer who evidently likes to sneak in a smoke break now and then is world cup superstar Zinedine Zidane. He's one of the best soccer players in the profession, but still has his vices.

Zidane was caught smoking during the 2006 World Cup in Germany. However, it was even more controversial because the handsome soccer star had fronted an anti-smoking campaign back in 2002. Yes, it is always surprising when you find out a sportsman is a smoker, but if it doesn't affect their playing too much to the point of debilitation, well, they're their own people.

#3 Gwyneth Paltrow

These days, it seems that Gwyneth Paltrow is just as famous for her strict, health-conscious diet as she is for her acting. After all, who could forget the media fracas caused when Paltrow participated in the "29 dollar a week" grocery challenge that was meant to highlight the plight of Americans on social assistance, who must provide for themselves and their families for less than thirty dollars a week.

Paltrow was criticized for her "bounty" which included black beans, brown rice, kale, limes, and avocado. Many pointed out that Paltrow's choices although high vitamins, were low in calories, and would leave poor, working class individuals -who often have physically demanding jobs- absolutely famished. To her credit, Paltrow conceded that she didn't make it through the whole week, and after four days she broke down and bought some chicken, veggies, and a bag of black licorice. Aside from licorice, the actress admits that another vice is American Spirit cigarettes.

#4 Sean Penn

Technically the Oscar winning actor is an ex-smoker; he gave up the habit after his then fianceé Charlize Theron asked him not to smoke around her son. As charming as Mr. Penn appears to be, it must have been hard.

Sean Penn is sort of seen as the sexy bad boy as well as extremely talented older actor of Hollywood and maybe his Academy Award-winning fame got the better of him he clearly didn't quit. At one point Penn was up to four packs a day! And now that he's not with Charlize, well maybe he's still puffing away.

#5 Simon Cowell

For some reason, professional SOB Simon Cowell was asked how he maintained his "eternally youthful appearance" (don't worry, I don't see it either).

Cowell responded that in addition to Botox, hundreds of push-ups, and bathing in lemon milk, he takes B Vitamin and magnesium injections. It seems weird then, that if someone would go to such extravagant lengths to maintain a youthful appearance, that he would also be an unapologetic smoker. Ah well, I guess Simon is famed for his often cruel remarks and if smoking's a part of that, there you go.

#6 Mila Kunis

Most people start smoking in their teens thanks to peer pressure and good ol' youthful ignorance and a very strong willingness to fit in with the crowd. Other non-teens give in to the undeniable social advantages that it offers when stepping outside to smoke and finding that other lonesome smoker whom you already have something to bond over.

Mila Kunis apparently started smoking in 2009 when she played a cigarette-smoking ballerina in the extremely dark and chilling film Black Swan where she starred alongside the lovely Natalie Portman. I suppose the character's habit wore off on her Kunis was in her mid twenties at the time, and she's still puffing away.

#7 Adele

The British soul singer was constantly seen with a smoke in her hand, and she isn't shy to talk about it. A few years ago the singer got sick with laryngitis and other health problems causing her to lose her amazing voice, but Adele insisted it wasn't the smoking that caused it. She told the Sun, "Smoking is not the reason I got laryngitis it was because I was talking too much."

Forced to try quitting because of it, the singer was not happy about it, saying, "Smoking is my favorite thing to do in the world, I am gutted I have had to give up." Though she claimed to try to quit cold turkey, Adele has allegedly turned to hypnotherapy to help her stop. Let's just hope it does and she can keep her stunning voice!

#8 Lindsay Lohan

So the fact that Lindsay Lohan is a smoker shouldn't be too surprising, as the actress's long struggle with substance abuse has been well documented.

Recently the Mean Girls star was seen celebrating the completion of her eight-year probation period with a trip to Italy. Included in that little vacay was Lindsay spotted smoking a rolled-up cigarette as she made a call on her cell phone, looking fairly relaxed and carefree. There have been numerous other photos of the 28-year-old light up so it doesn't appear she's quitting any time soon.

#9 Salma Hayek

It's hard to believe that the Mexican beauty is 48 years old, especially when you consider that she's a heavy cigarette smoker. Though Salma Hayek apparently said she'd give up the habit years ago, she still hasn't managed to quit.

Hayek has been spotted numerous times on the sets of her movies and most recently, in Mayfair, London when she was celebrating the launch of Christopher Kane's flagship store opening in March of this year. Everybody knows that tobacco causes premature aging, but it looks like that hasn't caught up with Salma quite yet.

#10 Selena Gomez

Recently, the former Disney Channel child star was caught getting a nicotine fix on the set of the upcoming film The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving.

The cameras were rolling, so it is possible that Gomez is simply playing a character that has the nasty habit. Then again, it might be that the 22-year-old wants to erase her once squeaky clean image. She is starring in edgier films these days, and she was great in Harmony Korine's film Spring Breakers.

#11 January Jones

The television series Mad Men wouldn't have been what it was without the constant cocktails and chain smoking that was indicative of the 50s. It seemed that all of the principal characters were never without a cigarette at hand.

Female lead January Jones was caught smoking between takes on the set of the AMC hit series in 2007. This was surprising for a few reasons: first of all, you'd think that all of the on-screen smoking would be enough to keep the cravings at bay. Secondly, Jones was pregnant at the time! Now she's grouped in with other celebrity moms who smoke, like Katie Holmes and Gwyneth Paltrow.

#12 Daniel Radcliffe

Yes, Harry Potter's a smoker. Or he was at least. In 2014, it was being widely reported that Daniel Radcliffe was actually going to rehab specifically for his smoking addiction.

Then again, when one of TMZ's minions asked him point blank if he was quitting smoking as he was getting into his car, Radcliffe's alleged response was, "I'm not quitting smoking. Don't believe everything you hear!" But that hasn't stopped his fans from wanting him to quit a full on crowdfunding campaign was set up in Sweden to help the 25-year-old quit, which allows Harry Potter fans to send messages to Daniel telling him why he should stop. Wonder how that's working out?

#13 Katherine Heigl

The Grey's Anatomy star was one of the most visible cigarette smokers in Hollywood Katherine Heigl was constantly being photographed with a cigarette.

Although it should be noted, that recently she's been seen with an E-cigarette that's the primary way that Heigl said she has been using to give up the real thing, and also now that she is a mother. She has said it hasn't been easy, however, as all smokers who try and quit very well know. Well, hopefully she can kick the habit for good!

#14 Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley has been known to be dragging on a burning cigarette while on set of many of her movies, but you might not have known the 30-year-old actress to smoke in real life.

The British beauty admitted to being allowed to smoke cigarettes when she was growing up, saying that her mother is "a bit mental in a good way." She's been spotted smoking cigars too possibly the habits of her husband, James Brighton rubbing off on her. Maybe the fact that the actress is so skinny can be attributed to her cigarette habit, too.

#15 Catherine Zeta Jones

You'd think that after her husband Michael Douglas battled throat cancer, that Catherine Zeta Jones would be able to quit smoking, but that wasn't the case.

The Welsh born actress, 45, was recently spotted in New York puffing on a cigarette halfway through a hair salon session in June. Michael blamed his throat cancer in part on his heavy smoking addiction, and underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy to fight it. But Catherine obviously is still taking drags. Such is the power of nicotine addiction!

#16 Lana Del Rey

The "Summertime Sadness" singer is a serious smoker, and can even be seen lighting up onstage mid-song. This has caused quite a controversy surrounding the star, as many fans are somewhat upset by this.

One fan questioned her setting an example for younger fans, and this could be a valid point. But at the same time, her popularity continues to soar with her album Honeymoon the most anticipated album of 2015. Lana has also admitted to other vices like drinking ten cups of coffee per day and sugar. Still, Miss Rey is young and beautiful, and we'll still love her, even when she's not.

#17 Elisabeth Moss

Although her character Peggy was one of the more clean-cut characters on the series Mad Men, much like her co-star January Jones, Elisabeth Moss can often be caught smoking a cigarette.

Her character does however light up quite often on the show, and the 33-year-old L.A. native said that she does smoke on occasion in real life too. So she might not be chainsmoker like many of her Hollywood comrades, but she also can't quite kick the habit. Surely playing a character who smokes would have its influence on you!
