Before they split they were one of the most powerful couples in the world. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just had to do it big when it came to their living situation. In 2007, they bought a 17th century French Chateau in the South of France called Chateau Miraval. The Chateau has 35 rooms and sits on 1,000 acres of land. Oh… and don’t forget the chateau is surrounded by a moat. This cost them around $60 million.

#2 Sean Parker

Known for being the billionaire founder of Napster and first president of Facebook, Sean Parker purchased his home from Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia De Rossi in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles for around $55 million. The Brody House is an 11,511 square foot house that sits on 2.22 acres of land with 9 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, swimming pool, tennis court, and courtyard with fireplace and huge tree.

#3 Oprah Winfrey

In 2001, Santa Barbara welcomed another big baller to the neighborhood. Oprah Winfrey purchased El Descanso, a 23,000 square foot Georgian style house with views of the ocean and mountains for $50 million. Oprah was visiting the property for her magazine when she decided she had to have it. The Montecito Estate has a high tech gourmet kitchen to compliment the lush gardens, 6 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, 10 fireplaces, and a guest house with a pool. Can’t forget the barn, orchard, wine cellar, tennis court, indoor state of the art theater and an outdoor theater, two ponds and a man-made lake.

Sean Combs aka Diddy, the self-made millionaire has moved to the Holmby Hills neighborhood, joining Sean Parker, Ridley Scott, and Google billionaire Eric Schmidt. Diddy bought a 17,000 square foot house with 8 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms for a cool $39 million. Sitting on 1.3 acres, the home hosts a fitness room, wine storage, and a 35-seat theater. The property also has a 3,000 square foot guest house and a pavilion with a full-service spa and beauty salon, steam, and massage parlor.

#5 Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi owned a huge home in Santa Barbara. The house was 10,522 square foot house sitting on 13 acres of land in Montecito. The house has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 9 fireplaces, a huge pool, and amazing ocean views. They also have tons of outdoor seating areas, an olive and eucalyptus trees. Before long the couple sold the home to someone who will appear on this list later, Ryan Seacrest.

After Ellen sold her home to Seacrest, she and Portia De Rossi purchased another Los Angeles home for about $40 million before selling it to Sean Parker. The estate features a tennis court and has become one of the couple's many homes.

Rihanna has owned or rented a few spiffy mansions in places like LA and Aspen, but her most recent home purchase came in Barbados, where she was born and raised. The home was listed at $21.8 million and is located on One Sandy Lane near the Sandy Lane Hotel.

Aniston has owned her Beverly Hills home for a couple years now and apparently is looking to sell. After renovating the house many times, she is looking to flip the house for over 3x the original purchase price, putting on the market at a $15 million asking price.

Bruce Willis and his model/actress wife Emma Heming have found themselves another residence, but this time across the country in New York City. This 6,000 square foot duplex has amazing views of Central Park from the living room. This size living space is rare for Manhattan and worth every penny of the $17 million that was paid for it. That’s a huge mark-up even after $2 million worth of renovations—especially if it is true that $750,000 of the rebuild budget went toward four gold-toilets. His new house runs around $35,000 a month and has 5 bedrooms, 6 baths and 6,000 square feet with an ultra modern design to the interior. The backyard hosts a waterfall that streams into the pool, that lights up at night.

Power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z’s reported $49 million bid on a 14,000 square foot Los Angeles estate in October was outmatched by Gucci designer Tom Ford. In the meantime, the two and daughter Blue Ivy will have to settle for their 20,000 square foot $150,000 per month rental, which apparently includes six bedrooms, a spa, an art studio and an Olympic sized pool. That house is believed to be worth $45 million.

The singer shattered sales records when she released her third album, 25, late last year. She reportedly used some of that cash to scoop up this Beverly Hills manse for $9.5 million. The 6,600-square-foot home has four bedrooms, six bathrooms and two formal living rooms. A hedge-lined pool in the back yard provides a private space to entertain neighbors, which reportedly include Jennifer Lawrence and Sofia Vergara.

#21 David Copperfield

Illusionist David Copperfield shattered Las Vegas records when he spent $17.55 million on a home there last month in an off-market deal with healthcare executive Kevin Hooks. The ultra-contemporary estate, hidden in a gated community, has eight bedrooms, a golf-simulator, a movie theater and a nightclub. The home is a half-hour drive from the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, where Copperfield is currently in residence.
