I don’t have kids yet, but I was one not too long ago. (Is 15 years ago not too long ago?) My parents got us our first computer in the mid-90s. It was the usual getup — Windows 95 on a brand-spankin’ new Hewlett Packard (my phone is probably faster than that), plus that classic 56.6 kbps modem that hooked up to the telephone line — that’s right, millennials, you couldn’t call anyone while you were online back in the 90s! — all courtesy of AOL, Juno, Earthlink, or whatever the hell you were using.
I’d like to think I don’t have very many horrifying stories, maybe except the time I was on KaZaA and downloaded what I thought was an Eminem mp3, but turned out to be a video clip of Budd Dwyer’s suicide. That was pretty traumatizing, especially for a kid in his early teens.
Anyway, before I bore the everlasting crap out of you, people took it upon themselves on Reddit to share some incredibly crazy stories of things they’ve found on their children’s computers.
