38-Year-Old Teacher At Posh Christian School ‘Bombarded Teenage Student With Sordid Texts’

A female instructor at a private school in north Florida is accused of exchanging sex-related text messages with an 18-year-old student.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday and accused of being an authority person soliciting or engaging in sex with a student, police said on Thursday (June 9).

The initial booking records have been made public online by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

According to WCTV, Hoover is a teacher at Point of Grace Christian School in Perry.

The student's mother contacted the sheriff's office on June 2 after discovering sexual text exchanges between Hoover and her son, according to court filings.

According to WCTV, the text messages were exchanged between March and April 2022. According to the news station, the student was enrolled in many classes offered by Hoover at the time.

According to online booking records, Hoover was released on Thursday after posting a bail amount of roughly $14,391.24.

WCTV reported that officials at Point of Grace Christian School had not responded to calls for comment.

According to KKTV, the mother told the sheriff's office that the married teacher appeared to be deliberately trying to get the teenager to sneak into her home while her husband was at work.

She had been teaching at the school since 2018, according to her Linkedin page, and is a graduate of St Leo University.
