Over two years after his Super Bowl halftime show, 50 Cent revealed that he performed that evening because Eminem insisted on having him on stage.

As he performed some of his hits at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the singer's selection was a bit of a surprise.

In a halftime show that is sure to stick in people's memories, 50 Cent performed alongside Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem.

He also claims that Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, tried to keep him out of the show.

“They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn’t want me there,” the singer recently told the Hollywood Reporter.

In response to a question about who "they" were referring to, 50 Cent clarified that it was Rock Nation.

It's true that they didn't want him there, the rapper said, adding that it was all Eminem's doing and that he was therefore included.

50 Cent explained: “Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it."

"When that happens, you go, ‘Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.'"

He added: "But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me."

50 Cent, who was hanging upside down like a bat during the iconic Super Bowl show, made a reference to the music video for his beloved 2003 club classic "In Da Club."

That being said, the singer acknowledged that hanging upside down "was a mistake" in an interview with USA Today conducted last year.

He added: “Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy too.”

After the rapper's Super Bowl performance, he also received body-shaming remarks.

In the end, he posted the following response to a story on his Instagram page: "I call this teasing me."

The rapper added: "They’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight."

“That’s why I laugh with them."

“Fat shaming only applies when you’re ashamed of your fat."

50 Cent appeared as a special guest for the Super Bowl performance, with Eminem and others serving as headliners.
