This photo of a Chinese boy with a frozen head on his way to school is spreading accross the internet like wild fire. 8 year old Wang Fuman lives in Xinjie province in China. Since his mom left him and his dad was forced to move to a big city to work. Fuman lives with his sister and grandmother in a bare mud house. Wang Fuman now lives 3 miles away from his school, which means he has to walk for hours each day just to get there and back. Wearing a thin coat, eight-year-old Fuman had walked for an hour in -9° weather to his school. He then had to sit an exam in a classroom without heating. His story moved millions of people in China, who started donating money to him and his school.

Fu Heng, the headmaster of the primary school, could not believe his eyes. Upon arrival, his student had icicles instead of his hair and eyebrows, contrasting with his burning red cheeks. The principal at the boy’s school decided to post some photos to social media to show the tough conditions that many of his students live with. Heng snapped a picture of the little fellow, marking the beginning of this crazy story. The internet has dubbed him as "Ice Boy," and soon the school has received more than $15,000 in donations, 20 heating equipment and 144 warm set of clothes.

Heng said,"It was the first day of their final exams, the temperatures dropped to -9 degrees Celsius in about 30 minutes that morning."

The little boy was determined to make it to school in time for the test, despite the cold. His hands were frozen while he completed the exam. Wang Fumanreally shows how disciplined he is and how much he cares about his education. According to Fu, the school tries to watch over him and others as much as it can, providing them with breakfast but admitted that their classrooms weren’t properly heated due to a lack of funding. Moved by the boy’s will, people on the internet hope he can build himself a better life if he continues to put his education first.

Some agree with the government's solution because - as one web user put - "this way the amount of money could benefit the future of more children". While other people disagreed as they argued the authority shouldn't re-distribute the donations because they were meant for Wang Fuman.

According to China National Radio, Chen Furong, the head of Ludian Education Bureau, said,"the authority didn't give too much money to Fuman because it wanted to protect him and help him grow up in a more healthily."

Critics concerned that people were donating money to Fuman, but the funds would end up being used to help other children - or even worse ending up in the hands of corrupted officials. In response, a member of staff from Zhaotong Youth Development Foundation told last week that not all of the donations had been sent to Fuman, and that the charity campaign was aimed to help children like Fuman in general.
