Donald Trump actually got his nickname from ex-wife Ivana Trump. Spy magazine featured a story on Ivana in which she shared her nickname for her husband. She says it came from the fact that English is her fourth language and placing "the" in front of his name just seemed natural.
The nickname became widely popular and even "The Donald" himself has embraced it.

Trump has been married 3 times and has 5 children. Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric are all 3 from his first wife, Ivana. After divorcing Ivana, Trump married actress Marla Maples who gave birth to his 4th child, Tiffany. His youngest child, Barron Trump is the son of current wife, Melania. In addition, Donald Trump currently has 8 grandchildren. What a big family!

Early on, Donald Trump identified as a republican with his support of Ronald Reagan. However, by the late 90's Donald Trump had switched his affiliation to that of the reform party.
