9 Tips For Surviving The Anime Blackout Period
#1. Check out the previous anime season's backlog of content.
Remember that one anime series that you just didn't have enough time to watch? Maybe you started watching something, but ended up stopping halfway for any number of reasons. With the void period looming over your, this is a great time to get back to other titles that you didn't get a chance to dive into.
#2. Or maybe try something from the ending season that you passed on.
You know. The series that you didn't give a chance after looking at the cover because it seemed like a bunch of moe lolis.
#3. Try some classics.
Sometimes it just makes sense to take a look at the far past to find a hidden gem you might of missed.
#4. If all else fails, Netflix has some good norm-core shows to hold you over.
Investing in Netflix could turn out to be your life saver giving you a chance to watch interesting shows like Heroes, Daredevil, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. To be honest just pick anything that's Marvel or DC and you can't go wrong...probably.
But if you want to really drift into weird territory, a bunch of us are currently WTF-ing on every episode of Hemlock Grove.
#5. There's a lot of interesting anime content to dive into on YouTube.
#6. Games like Persona are like playing an anime.
Forget real life and live the true anime dream with the Persona franchise, where you can collect waifus like Pokemon, go to Japanese school, and easily become a Hikikomori long enough to hold you until new season starts .
#7. Read some manga.
There's way more manga out there in the world than anime. A lot of them with potential to become the next interesting series to one day send you to the void. You can even get a head start on checking out a few of the manga titles being adapted in the upcoming season.
#8. Play a visual novel.
A ton of anime series get adapted from visual novels. Usually with TONS of extra content that never fully makes it into the anime series once adapted. They are worth checking out, even for old anime titles you've already watched. If the anime has a visual novel as the original source material, you would likely understand the anime better after playing the VN.
#9. With all of this said, try not to panic too much.
Remember, this should only last a week or two weeks max before new series start airing again.
Good luck!
