Things you'll need:

A 14-in. terra cotta saucer

A 7-in. terra cotta saucer

A 6-in. terra cotta saucer

3 4-in. terra cotta saucers

A 6-in. flowerpot

A 4-in. flowerpot

A fountain pump for indoors

Plastic tubing to match the size of the pump

Silicone sealer

Clear spray sealer

A round file

A drill with a masonry bit

This is how it works:

The first step is to spray the inside of the 14-in. saucer with clear spray. It is best to let it dry and then give it an additional coat or two to make it waterproof.

#2

While that is drying, take the remaining saucers and flowerpots and soak them in a bucket of water for a couple of hours. That way it will be easier to drill holes and file notches in them.

Place the 7-in. saucer over a piece of wood for support and drill a hole through the middle. The plastic tubing has to be able to fit through this hole, so if you need to enlarge it, you can use the file. File a notch in the lip of the saucer as well. If you file at a slight downward angle, it will work better as a spout for the water.

#4

Now file four notches in the lip of one of the 4-in. saucers and just one notch in the another 4-in. saucer.

#5

File four notches in the lip of the 6-in. flowerpot, making sure one of the notches is large enough for the power cord of the pump to fit through.

#6

Attach the plastic tubing to the pump's outlet. If it's difficult to slide on, warm the tubing in hot water to soften it and make it more flexible.

#7

Turn the 6-in. pot upside down, with the pump underneath it.

#8

Set the 7-in. saucer on top so that the tubing goes through the holes in the pot and the saucer. Make sure you adjust the tube so that the pump sits flat on the bottom.

Then trim the end of the tube, leaving about a half of an inch extra and seal the end of the tube with the silicon sealer and let it dry.

#10

Hide the tube with the 4-in. saucer with 4 notches in it. Now, turn the 4-in. flowerpot upside down and place it next to the first column with the 6-in. saucer placed on top of it. The two saucers side-by-side make a kind of waterfall, so make sure you place the notch exactly where the water is supposed to flow down into.

The last stage of the waterfall is made up of the two remaining 4-in. saucers. The one placed upside down without any notches is underneath the other saucer with the notch in it and placed the right way up.

Decorate the fountain with rocks, gravel and potted plants. Right at the end, fill the base with water right up until the rim and then turn on the pump. You can place the fountain indoors or outdoors but remember all the parts are loose. And if you want to be on the safe side, you can seal the parts with silicon but just keep in mind that if you do this, you won't be able to take them apart to clean them.
