A Painful Bubble Appeared On Her Skin And Started To Grow

#1 24-year-old singer Carelle Mowatt woke to a surprise at her home in Surrey.

She woke up one morning with a strange blister on her leg and dismissed it as nothing. She figured it was harmless but sadly, the "harmless" blisters turned dangerous.

#2 A painful skin bubble began to develop and as it grew larger, she started trying to medicate it with antihistamines.

Her boyfriend urged her to see a doctor but she initially refused.

#3 After some time, the blister burst and left her with a very painful experience.

She finally saw a doctor and they gave her antibiotics to treat it. Unaware of the cause at first, it took several weeks for medical professionals to realize that she had likely been bit by a brown recluse spider.

#4 This is unusual since brown recluse spiders typically live in the southern states of North America.

#5 Today, she has a scar from her encounter, but she is lucky to still have a healthy and functional leg in tact.
