The driver, identified as Jonathan Davis, from Tennessee, kept on trucking at 50 mph after popping two of his tires on spike strips. When police shot out one other tire, Davis crashed his car into a guardrail and was finally forced to stop. Authorities said he drove the wrong way, passed vehicles on the shoulder and evaded multiple attempts by officers to disable the vehicle with spike strips on I-35E before crashing.
"He got out of the vehicle unharmed and was taken down, placed in handcuffs and taken into custody," said McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara. However, FOX4 News had a chance to interview Davis when he was being placed into the police car and he had some legitimate concerns.

He admitted that he was using his iPhone and trying to post to Snapchat when he was first spotted by an officer at a traffic light. He says he took off speeding because he had marijuana in his car at the time and was tired of getting arrested for something he "always" had on him.
"I don't know what happened. I am new to this state. I just moved here two months ago I didn't really pay attention to don't text and drive or whatever. So I did it and he pulled me over."
He is "done with people trying to take his freedom." And added, "Dude, I was trying to get to San Antonio. I don't know what the fuck roads I was on until they shot my car. I didn't know they was going to shoot at me. I was like, "Damn, they shooting at me. I ain't even got no gun."

Davis is facing charges for evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession, fleeing an officer, use of an electronic device, and driving while impaired or intoxicated. He said that "I'm an adrenaline junkie. I did it for the thrills. You go fast in any car, race car track, here, it's fun anywhere."
