#1 Death Of Her Dad.

Giorgia Lanuzza was only 13 years old when suddenly her father died. As if that wasn't enough for her she also developed a strange and painful skin disease that wouldn't go away.

#2 These Red Spots Were Not An Allergy.

She thought these red spots are some sort of a allergy which will go away after some time. But when the condition started worsening she realized that this is not some sort of an allergy. In fact these inflamed rashes were actually the symptoms of a chronic condition called psoriasis.

#3 What Is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by red, flaky patches of skin that can be scaly in appearance. The condition is often triggered by stress. This means that this condition occurred because of the tragedy of Lanuzza's father's death.

#4 Life After Tragedy.

"Grieving was difficult enough," Lanuzza said. "Then, when these flaky patches started appearing on my skin, I had no idea what was happening."

#5 She Became The Victim Of Bullying!

Coping with such situation wasn't easy for her. She became the victim of bullying.

#6 She Wanted To Be A Normal Teenager.

"I was a teenager and all I wanted was to be like other girls my age wearing make-up, pretty clothes and talking about boys," Lanuzza explained.

#7 Life Was Not Easy For Her.

Lanuzza suffers from the extreme case of psoriasis. Her condition gets worse in hot temperatures. Usually psoriasis patients experience small flare-ups of scabs and welts on a few select areas of their bodies.

#8 The Long Journey To Acceptance.

Lanuzza went to a number of dermatologists but her skin did not get better. Now she has accepted her skin and she has learned to love herself the way she is.

#9 I Am Beautiful!

Now in her mid-20s, Lanuzza says, "Finally I've come to terms with my skin and have realized that I am beautiful."

#10 'I Know My Dad Would Be So Proud'

It took her more than a decade to realize that she is beautiful the way she is and now she has an amazing outlook on life. Now she is bold and beautiful.

"I am finally realizing that I don't have to see my psoriasis as a curse," she said. "I know my dad would be so proud of me for my attitude."
