Alyson Hannigan's time on Season 32 of 'Dancing With the Stars' wasn't just about losing 20 pounds. Beyond the weight loss, she found a way to let go of emotional baggage. Her dances weren't solely about getting fit—they became a path to improve both her body and soul.
Alyson Hannigan Lost 20 Pounds Of ‘Both Weight And Emotional Baggage’ On ‘DWTS’
Alyson Hannigan, nabbing the fifth spot on that incredible ABC show alongside Sasha Farber, recently spilled her thoughts on Instagram.
She dished out how this whole experience totally shook things up for her. It wasn't just about dance—it seriously revamped her entire journey on the dance floor and in life.
Alongside a side-by-side photo from her original "DWTS" promo shot and a snap from last week's finale, she wrote,
"The before and after says it all. I lost 20 pounds of both weight and emotional baggage during my time on @dancingwiththestars."
"I can't thank @sashafarber1 enough for helping me shed my insecurities and getting me to the confident and strong place I am today!"
Farber, 39, was clearly touched by the note, writing, "🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😂â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ miss you," in response.
He posted a comparison picture on his feed, showcasing his excitement for his dance partner.
"I wanted to post this picture and celebrate, how proud and hard working my partner was during the season!!!!" he wrote, seemingly thrilled.
"I believe dance is the best way to exercise stimulate the brain and have fun in the process!!!!!"
The "How I Met Your Mother" alum, 49, was applauded by several of her former "DWTS" competitors as well.
"Incredible!!!!! Congrats on such a good season," Alan Bertsen, who was sent home during the second week of the competition with his partner, Jamie Lynn Spears, commented on the actress' post.
Val Chmerkovskiy, who clinched the season's victory with actress Xochitl Gomez, expressed his support for Hannigan with a red heart emoji.
Meanwhile, Harry Jowsey, amidst rumors of dating his former dance partner Rylee Arnold, joined in with a round of applause emojis in the comments.
Hannigan's post followed a day after she poured her heart out about her dance show journey in a lengthy Instagram update.
"Where do I even begin? I really don't have enough words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for this experience," she penned in a caption that accompanied a compilation of videos from her time on the series.
"To go into this journey with mostly fear, and come out how I feel now is indescribable I cannot thank @sashafarber1 enough for everything he gave me, shared with me and experienced with me.
"I couldn't have asked for a better partner. Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for giving me confidence and making me feel like I could do this and then getting me there and having so much fun along the way."
Hannigan continued, "I am so glad that you came into my life and you're not gonna get rid of me now."
Expressing gratitude, Hannigan extended heartfelt thanks to the cast, crew, and wardrobe department for their incredible work in bringing the show to life every week.
She congratulated Gomez, 17, and Chmerkovskiy, 37, for their well-deserved win.
In an exclusive chat with Page Six earlier, Hannigan revealed she applied valuable advice from Season 31 alum Selma Blair throughout her time on "DWTS."
"Definitely to breathe, and just to kind of leave the weight of the world outside. Just to be present," she explained.
"She was wonderful. She's the reason I wanted Sasha [as my partner] so bad."
Blair, 51, and Farber removed themselves from the competition last year out of concern for the actress' complications related to her multiple sclerosis (MS).
