A YouTuber has stirred excitement after appearing to confirm a long-circulated rumor about a mysterious aircraft said to be linked to Area 51.

When it comes to conspiracy theories in the United States, few attract as much attention as the ones tied to Area 51, the top-secret military base hidden in Nevada’s desert.

If you’re not familiar, the US Air Force is extremely strict about who gets access to its classified bases, which is exactly why speculation about Area 51 has never gone away.

This secrecy fuels endless theories about what might be going on inside. Some believe there’s a time machine locked away.

Others suggest aliens are quietly shaping humanity’s future. Of course, there’s the more realistic view that it’s simply where America tests its most advanced technology.

While the wilder ideas make for fun speculation, aviation fans think they’ve actually confirmed one of the more believable rumors surrounding the base.

The buzz started after aviation enthusiast Michael Rokita managed to capture footage of a strange-looking aircraft: the US Air Force’s classified RATT55 jet.

The rare plane was filmed flying over Nevada and was later seen landing at Area 51, heading straight into the well-known Hangar 18.

This is remarkable because the jet is so rarely spotted, and some rumors even claimed there was only one ever built and that it had been retired. Its unique shape makes it instantly recognizable, though.

The RATT55 has a very distinctive design, including a large nose, a hump on its back, another on its belly, and a noticeable extension at the rear.

The aircraft was specifically engineered for in-flight radar cross-section testing, meaning it helps measure how visible other planes are to radar.

In simpler terms, it allows the military to test the stealthiness of their own stealth jets before they’re deployed in real operations.

Rokita managed to overcome technical challenges by using a Nikon P1000 camera combined with a binocular-smartphone setup.

With this gear, he was able to capture clear photos and video footage, which he later uploaded to his YouTube channel.

So, while the sighting might not confirm alien spacecraft or wild science-fiction theories, it does give aviation buffs one solid piece of evidence to chew on.

And who knows — keeping your eyes on the skies might still pay off someday.
