In 2008, Grande had curls in her famous straight hair.

Her career was starting to take off; at 14, she'd been cast in "13" on Broadway, and she was about to audition for the role that would make her famous.

2009 was the beginning of the Ariana Grande we know and love.

She was cast in "Victorious" on Nickelodeon. The show was a hit, and helped to make Ariana a household name.

Here's a shot of Grande with pink hair in 2010.

She had to dye her hair every other week. The reason? The executive producer of "Victorious" didn't want all of the girls in the cast to have brunette hair.

The hair color helped to make Grande into a star.

However, by 2011, Grande was stepping away from the role to record her debut album.
