A bizarre incident was reported back in 2019 where a sibling duo got arrested on charges of drug abuse. Upon getting caught, the sister told officials that it was her brother who fed her a meth sandwich and also once gave her a drink spiked with meth.
Two Arkansas siblings got arrested on drug charges after the sister told officials that her brother fed her a 'meth sandwich.'
The 29-year-old Elizabeth Catlett was pulled over on Sunday, October 6, for driving without her headlights on in Hot Springs, a city located about 55 miles southwest of Little Rock.
According to a Fox News report, at the time of the incident, Catlett's then 33-year-old brother was a passenger in the vehicle.
According to KATV, the police officer who stopped them noticed that Catlett was "moving about the vehicle in a quick, nervous manner" and found the car smelling of marijuana.
Upon inquiry asking if there were any drugs in the car, Catlett said there were none. However, a body check of Catlett was conducted once another officer arrived at the scene, and they found small plastic bags and a cut straw in her front pocket, apart from an alleged residue of methamphetamine.
The sister told officials that the drugs were planted on her by someone else. Detectives then asked Furr, the brother, if there was anything illegal in the vehicle.
"If there is anything in the car it would be in the console and it would be ice," he responded, behaving erratically. The officers at the scene later recovered 0.5 grams of meth from the vehicle. They also found alcohol swabs and medical supplies along with drug paraphernalia.
Catlett insisted to the officers that if she "pops hot" — a term used by abusers to testing positive for drugs — it would be because her brother had fed her a meth sandwich.
The 29-year-old told officers that her brother did this quite often and that he also spiked her drink with meth earlier once. Meanwhile, Furr confessed to shooting meth with his sister.
The sibling duo was then taken into custody and booked on multiple charges. Catlett, because of her resistance, faces additional charges of refusal to submit a chemical test as well as DWI.
