#3 When he failed to return, family members raised the alarm and a search by police trackers finally found him 15 kilometers from where he went missing.

#9 "When he was found, he was given a drink, and then paramedics administered intravenous fluids; he was soon sitting up, but he was still airlifted to the hospital."

#10 Reg says he had imagined the worst scenarios in the last 3 days of his stay in the dry, hot Outback.

#11 He said could see the rescue helicopters passing overhead, but they couldn’t get sight of him across the shelter of trees he was under to avoid the sun.

#12 By sixth day, he had said his goodbye in his head and went back to look for his gun, but luckily was found by trackers. It was extremely hot, extremely remote, and most people probably wouldn’t have survived.

#13 It was probably good will and a miracle that he survived as long as he did under those conditions with no water, but his sister said Reg was an experienced bushman but added: “I’m going to get him to get a satellite phone”

His family was overjoyed when he finally arrived back home and was reunited.
