If we got a hot summer, men cooling off with a dip where the so-called ‘nutcracker' fish is prowling could end up losing his crown jewels because the pacu goes straight for the groin.
Unlike piranha, which famously strip the flesh off anything they sink their teeth into, pacu will crack seeds and nuts dropping from trees into the waster but they've been known to bite human testicles.

In a statement which will sound a warning about the genital-gobbling fish reaching the UK, Lars Skou Olsen, curator of Copenhagen's Blue Planet Aquarium, said: ‘No-one ever thought that a pacu could live in the wild in Denmark, first of all because the water temperature is too low.

A fishermen in South America attacked by the pacu have reportedly bled to death after losing their testicles in the fish's vicious teeth.
The fish are found in most rivers in the Amazon and Orinoco basins in South
America and have also been spotted in Papua New Guinea, where they are believed to have been introduced in order to boost fish stocks.
