It's not uncommon for celebrities to court controversy in order to seem dynamic and make headlines. Rob Kardashian is no different. Thought to be the shyest of his siblings due to his limited appearances on E!'s flagship docusoap Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Rob then got engaged to a woman whose figure is even less believable than his sisters'. Since this time, Rob and his fiancée Blac Chyna have been hitting headlines more frequently than Cyprus Hill hit the bong. As a Kardashian, Rob's image is carefully managed and it seems that, instead of getting involved in any criminality or controversy himself, Chyna may have been brought in to shake things up a little.

A former video vixen, Blac Chyna real name Angela Renée White, is a now a "model and entrepreneur" (not a million miles from Kim Kardashian who is a model and businesswoman, apparently). However, unlike most entrepreneurs, Chyna has a past which includes stripping, drugs and multiples arrests. Flip the page to find out about her shady past which has now been exposed. An increasingly confusing and insidious place, it seems tinseltown has tied itself in knots. Chyna already has a son with rapper Tyga who, until recently, was going out with Kylie Jenner Rob's half sister. Considering Rob's father was OJ Simpson's defence lawyer, I'm blaming all of this on either OJ Simpson or Kim's "video". In any case, Blac Chyna was recently in the news because she is expecting a baby with Armenian playboy Rob Kardashian. However, her past could raise questions in the Kardashian household over whether she is good mother material.

Days after they announced that they were romantically involved, she was arrested at an airport in Austin, Texas, for being drunk and disorderly. Her new boyfriend Rob had to drive 2,200 kilometres in order to pick her up and get her home. Following the incident, Tyga filed paperwork to rearrange the custody agreement for their four-year-old son, King Cairo. But this wasn't her first instance of criminality. Back in 2008, Chyna was pulled over in Miami for speeding. With more than 20 driver's licence suspensions in her home state of Maryland, she was placed in custody until she paid a fine. That said, it's Chyna's friends who are the real criminals here. Click over the page to see the atrocious scene she's caught up in. A standout example of the questionable company Chyna keeps is Charmeika "Paige" Addison. Often referred to as Chyna's "best friend" or "BFF", she has also featured in TV show Boss Nails. However, she has also been involved in some serious criminality. She crashed Chyna's car last year, injuring three people, before fleeing the scene. It's thought she deliberately evaded the police, before eventually deciding to cooperate. However, like Chyna, her criminal past isn't limited to one incident. She was also arrested by Miami police in 2011 for possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $3000 and the case eventually came to a close on 23rd May 2012, when she was ordered to pay a $150 fine.

Even Chyna's mother, the equally-interestingly-named Tokyo Toni, also has a shady past. She had a restraining order taken out against her by her husband when she threatened to kill him. She spoke out about the incident on Instagram. "This is a very true story," she wrote in the caption of a photo. "The funny part is he better not try again LOL. Yeah he stayed out nine days in a row without calling home so what did you think I was going to write him a fairytale story and kiss him goodnight, no b*tch." Well, it seems that Chyna has enough criminality surrounding her, her friends and her family for Rob to comfortably bathe in her reflected infamy. Let's just hope that things remain calm enough for them to raise a happy, heathy and non-plastic-surgery-obsessed child. Speaking of the Kardashians and plastic surgery, watch Rob and Blac party it up at the Hard Rock Cafe over the page. It must be difficult being famous. With people constantly asking to do things for you, giving you things, paying you money to do things you would probably have done for free At least tinseltown's next power couple know how to enjoy themselves. So do celebrities court controversy in order to seem edgy, cool or relevant? Yes to all three. Somewhere deep down inside me though, I probably hope that they genuinely love each other. But let's face it they're not people. They're brands.
