Landon, eight years old, experienced death twice and miraculously returned to life after being involved in a tragic car accident.
An eight-year-old boy who died not once, but twice, following a car crash, has now grown up and shared his remarkable story of what he witnessed when he says he 'went to heaven'.
In 1997, Landon was on his way home from church with his parents, Julie and Andy Kemp, when a devastating car accident changed their lives forever.
His father, Andy, was killed instantly at the scene, and tragically, Landon also lost his life—twice.
Watch below to hear what Landon recalls from his time in heaven:
Landon was resuscitated twice that fateful day and was quickly flown to Carolinas Medical Center in North Carolina.
"I didn't see what he was yelling at. I didn't see the ambulance coming. But I remembered him yelling. That was the last thing I heard from him," Julie recounted to the Christian Broadcasting Network, reflecting on her husband's final words before the accident.
"They couldn't see his body because of the damage that was done to the driver's side of the car.
"And Landon was sitting behind his dad. And when they saw Landon's shoe, it took a deeper search for his body.
"When they pulled Landon out from the back of the car, he was not breathing."
"And they all started working on him right away to bring him back. Landon was resuscitated and life-flighted to Carolinas Medical Center. They told me that if he lived, which did not look good, but that if he lived, that he would be like an eight-year-old baby, that he would not know how to walk or talk or to eat. I was so desperate that was ok, I would take that."
Against all odds, Landon survived the major surgeries he had to undergo, and incredibly, he suffered no brain damage despite the trauma he endured.
As the years passed, Landon began to open up to his mother about the extraordinary things he experienced during his time in heaven.
In addition to seeing his father, Landon also revealed that he encountered Julie's 'two other children'—babies she had miscarried.
Amazingly, Landon had never been told about these miscarriages, making his story even more profound for his mother.
Describing his heavenly experience, Landon said: "It was almost as if like a preview of a movie to where you only get to see certain bits and pieces of things. Jesus came to me and told me that I have to go back to Earth and be a good Christian and tell others about him."
Now, Landon uses his story as a source of inspiration, helping others who are grieving or searching for hope.
"I didn't understand in 1997 why God didn't send an angel," Julie reflected.
"But I know that there were angels there. And I know that we were protected. And we are living out what his plan is for us. Instead of staying mad at him, I was able to use the story to help others not to give up and to keep their faith on their grief journey."
