Did you know mouthwash can clean your toilet?
In fact, Lysol was originally marketed as a floor cleaner! Just dissolve your mouthwash in water, spray onto a dirty surface and wait 30 minutes before scrubbing thoroughly and rinsing clean.
1 Shower Curtains
Are your shower curtains getting a little water stained or moldy? Cleaning them can actually be a lot easier than it seems! Instead of replacing your shower curtains every few months, try cleaning and reusing them with this hack.
Mix 500 ml of all-purpose bleach with two tablespoons of dish-washing detergent. Spritz the mixture all over the shower curtains and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Give them a good rinse and they’ll be good as new!
2 Clean the mirror
The bathroom mirror gets SO GROSS. Covered in dust, makeup, and toothpaste, when I let mine get too far gone, I can hardly see my face. Spraying cleaning products or water on paper towels tends to leave a streaky, blotchy shine. So try this technique instead.
Brew some REALLY strong tea – like 3 bags of black tea and nothing else. Pour the tea into a spray bottle and use this to clean your mirror spotless! Instead of paper towel, try newspaper to get less streaks.
3 Shower Head Cleaning Trick
Shower heads get so yucky, and because they’re at a weird angle, it can be hard to thoroughly clean them. Here’s a brilliant idea, though: take a Ziploc baggie, fill it with distilled vinegar and attach it to the shower head with a rubber band. Boom! It’s cleaned in minutes.
4 Toothbrush it
The most effective way to remove mildew from grout is to use a toothbrush and bleach. Dip the toothbrush straight into the bleach and scrub. If you tackle the mildew as soon as you see it, you can prevent it from spreading to other areas of the tub. Use an old electric toothbrush to save your arms from pain.
5 Shine Your Sink Fixtures
Over time, sink fixtures can start looking dull. Cafe Mom recommends adding a bit of baby oil to get them looking sparkly and new. With this trick, they’ll look so shiny you can see your reflection.
6 Clean Tiles/Walls with Vinegar
When in doubt, just grab the vinegar. Vinegar can be used to naturally clean practically any surface in your washroom or house. If you don’t feel like combing any of the above recipes, vinegar is the way to go.
Make a vinegar spray bottle that can be used for all purposes. Just combine half white or cleaning vinegar and half warm water. This solution can be used to mop floors, clean surfaces, and much more.
7 Bathtub Cleaner
Bathtub’s can be an annoyance to keep clean since they are used so frequently. An easy solution is to mix pack of baking soda with vinegar to lightly scrub the tub, then rinse with warm water.
8 Bathtub and toilet bowl rust stains
Coke — it’s not just for quenching thirst, the acid in the popular drink can also dissolve rust stains from porcelain. According to Leslie Reichert, green cleaning expert and author of "The Joy of Green Cleaning," pour enough Coke into a drained toilet bowl or bathtub to cover rust marks. Allow to sit overnight. In the morning, no more rust
9 Clean your toilet with Grapefruit and salt
Making a natural toilet cleaner is a simple and effective way to clean your toilet without harsh chemicals.The grapefruit salt combination makes a very effective cleaner, safe for the environment and incredibly fun to use. Plus the smell is unbelievable!
1.Sprinkle the top of the grapefruit liberally with salt
2.Wet the toilet (you can just flush) and sprinkle salt inside the toilet bowl
3.You may need to repeat the process if your toilet bowl is very dirty
4.Scrub the grapefruit/salt combo around the toilet bowl, making sure to squeeze a little juice over each spotsand lifting the grapefruit every few seconds to pick up fresh salt from around the bowl instead of just pushing it around
5.Use the rind on stubborn areas
6.Once done scrubbing, leave as is for 10 minutes
7.Repeat scrubbing if toilet is still dirty or rinse the bowl if clean
