Camille Vazquez has once again gotten herself under the spotlight after her response to Amber Heard's statement following her defamation lawsuit with Johnny Depp.

Heard was sued by her ex-husband Johnny Depp following her 2018 op-ed in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.

The A-List trial came to an end on June 1, with the jury ruling in favor of Depp and subsequently awarding him $15 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Following the verdict Heard released a statement to say that she felt 'heartbroken' at the result.

In a post shared Instagram, the Aquaman star said: "I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband.

"I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback.

"It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated.

"It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously."

Heard added that she feels that Depp's legal team was successful in getting the jury to 'overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech.'

Heard's lawyers had also called the verdict a 'setback for women's rights,' a sentiment Vasquez countered when speaking to Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos.

However, Depp's lawyer Vasquez is not taking any of it and she made it clear stating that the trial allowed Depp to 'speak the truth for the first time.'

She said: "It was six years in the making, and I think he was able to connect with the jury and the general public and tell what really happened in this relationship."

Responding to the statement from Heard's lawyers, Vasquez said: "We're only speaking about what happened in this case, right? And the facts in this case were overwhelmingly positive for Johnny and the verdict speaks for itself."

Vasquez went on to rebuke the claims that this verdict has marked the end of the #MeToo movement and said that her team 'encourage any victim to come forward - domestic violence doesn't have a gender.'
