For cancer patient Tamara Bruzzo, reaching her last day of chemotherapy was enough of a celebration.
But little did she know that her boyfriend since high school had a big secret that would make her battle totally worth fighting for. Yes, he was ready to pop the very important question!
"I wanted it to be a symbol or closing the chapter of cancer in her life and opening a new chapter with our lives together," Lucas shared. "I called the nurses to see if they could help me out and keep it a secret because I was going to propose to her."
With help from family, friends and even nurses, 24-year-old Lucas D'Onofrio transformed his girlfriend's hospital room into a romantic destination with candles, heart-shaped balloons and even some tunes from Ed Sheeran.
