We've all had one of those years, where everything just seems to go so terribly wrong. Whether it be financial woes, a crumbled relationship, or that time you got sent to prison for six months. You can't wait for the year to finally come to a close so you can hit that 'refresh' button. It’s not just the average Joe that can have a disaster year; there are many celebrities who are longing for the New Year to come as well. In fact, you may think you had a hell of a year but just because these people bathe in champagne regularly, doesn’t mean they can’t have a bad year too.

#1 Ryan Lochte

You win some, you lose some. And the Medal winner at the Summer Olympics is on the losing end now after he fabricated a robbery story that made national and international headlines. While competing in the Olympics in Brazil this summer, Ryan told his story on NBC Sports about how he and his friends were robbed by men pretending to be the police. "We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing just a police badge and they pulled us over. They pulled out their guns; they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground they got down on the ground. I refused, I was like we didn't do anything wrong, so I'm not getting down on the ground. And then the guy pulled out his gun, he cocked it, put it to my forehead, and he said, âÂ€Â˜Get down,' and I put my hands up, I was like âÂ€Â˜whatever.' He took our money, he took my wallet he left my cell phone, he left my credentials." A pretty amazing story if ever there was one, but it all unraveled within days as it came out the swimmers were actually questioned earlier that night for damaging a gas station bathroom and were drunk. Lochte lost all of his endorsement deals and his only prospect now seems to become a fiction writer.

#2 Kelly Ripa

She was a total tyrant behind the scenes and her co-host, Michael Strahan got tired of her games and diva attitude. She complained that he was getting more air time that she was, so he went looking for another job. He never told Kelly he was leaving, he just quit. Audiences were shocked when they found out that he left especially since he announced his departure on another talk show, Good Morning America. The diva claims that she was so sad and depressed that she needed a vacation and left for a week, leaving the producers in a lurch. When she returned, as a solo host, her ratings have plummeted to the point that it may not be on much longer.

#3 Chumlee

There's no denying that people loved the character Chumlee on the show Pawn Stars. He had his own following and many fans claimed that he was the only reason they watched the show. Fans were shocked when in March his house was raided by police, and they found more than they bargained for. The 33-year-old reality star had 3 unregistered guns in his home as well as marijuana and methamphetamine. He found himself facing a weapon charge as well as 19 drug-possession charges. Instead of going to trial he took a plea deal and has to go to rehab. He made the show a bigger success but not for his fun-loving ways.

#4 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

If they had only read the tea leaves they could have seen this disaster coming. Jolie is a notorious cheater and Pitt was too self-absorbed and cheated on his wife, Jenniffer Aniston, to hook up with Jolie. Together they gave up a lot to raise and adopt several children in need of a loving home. But as Pitt was in the middle of leaving the marriage due to his wife's quirky behaviors, she got pretty nasty towards him. It's hard to believe, but the couple has spent 12 years together, and with the impending divorce, all the dirty laundry is being aired. The world was shocked when Angelina started accusing Brad of drug abuse and abusive behavior towards his children. She called the Children's Aid to investigate his behavior towards the children while he went to court and accused her of neglect because of her depression, anorexia, and alcoholism. All in all, it's been a rotten year for the couple.

#5 Anthony Weiner

One would think that a notable politician would get their act together after two sexually related scandals, but Weiner did the same thing a third time in 2016. The first time that Anthony Weiner was caught in a sexting scandal with an underage girl, the Congressman made a documentary about it. The second time it was when he was running for Mayor of New Yor City and of course, he lost in a landslide. In 2016 he went for try number three, that we know about, and sent a photo of himself laying next to his young son in underwear with his wiener showing through. The New York Post used his misfortune and made headlines with the photo and story. His wife, Huma Abedin, filed for divorce, finally. The one time democratic hopeful with lots of promise became a laughing stock though apparently he lives up to his name pretty well.

#6 Mark Salling

It's always a bad year when someone gets arrested for child pornography, just ask the Subway, sandwich guy. Most people know Mark Salling from the popular TV show Glee. What most people didn't know however was that Salling had a few skeletons in his closet. The skeletons came in the form of illicit child porn charges laid on the actor. He was charged with two counts by a grand jury. The actor's laptop was seized over a year ago, and police found thousands of disturbing videos and photos. People magazine reported that he's out on $150,000 bond while he looks for a lawyer. There is very little out there that is more disgusting than someone being involved in something so twisted. Judging by the fact that they had so much evidence against him it's pretty likely that 2017 is not going to go well for the actor either.

#7 Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift just can't seem to catch a break. Yes, she's beautiful, talented, wealthy, and has a great career, but things never go her way. She has gone through a multitude of breakups, seemingly unable to keep a man for more than a few months but this year has been especially hard for the singer especially after Kanye West started spouting off that she was a liar. The two have always had bad blood since Swift won the Best Video at the MTV Awards and West jumped up and took her award and tried to give it to Beyonce. This time he released a song claiming the two would end up having sex and that he 'made the bitch famous'. She sued but he released the song anyway along with a video of her and other celebs sleeping with him in a huge bed. Shortly after she spit with another boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston. That ended quickly and she was attached to singer Calvin Harris, which just ended as 2016 was coming to a close. Maybe she'll get it right in 2017.

#8 Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp's five-minute marriage to Amber Heard ended with accusations that he was abusive. It was the first claim that's been made like that about the actor and even his previous wife of fourteen years was appalled by the accusations. Heard filed for the divorce just 2 days after Depp's mother passed away making many to believe she was just going in the for kill. But then the actress shared actual photos she had taken of her cut lips, bruised neck, and black eye. She even went so far as getting a restraining order against him. The public was shocked when Heard went one step further by releasing a video of Johnny Depp breaking a wine bottle and attacking her with it. She was granted $7 million in the divorce and Depp remains in recluse.

#9 Kim Kardashian

Apparently, and I say that because it sounds fishy, even to police, Kim was on vacation in Paris and was robbed by gunmen in her luxury apartment and left tied up in the shower. The thieves supposedly went through the hotel then to Kim's room, and made off with close to $10 million in jewelry. Why would she carry that much jewelry with her on a wee long vacation is the question. Most believe it was all a scam since she and Kanye are crying poor mouth. There was no harm done to Kim, although she found the event to be quite traumatic. Sources say she is in hiding over the incident and it also led to hubby, Kanye West's recent mental breakdown. Oh, to have such problems.

#10 Khloé Kardashian

Those pooe Kardashians seem to have all the bad luck. Khloe Kardashian was publicly embarrassed, and she sort of deserved it. She did, after all, try to publicly attack Chloe Grace Moretz. It all started when Chloe started tweeting about the feud between Kanye and Taylor. "Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world," and "Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant." This pissed Khloe off, and she decided to post a picture from the set of Neighbours 2 of a woman in a red bikini. She claimed that it was Chloe showing off her butt in a very unflattering way. "Is this the hole you're referring to @ChloeGMoretz???" The problem with a post like that is that Khloe should have made sure that it was, in fact, Chloe in the picture. "@khloekardashian fact check: first photo is me filming my movie Neighbors 2, the second photo is some girl who was wrongfully photographed."

#11 Jay-Z

Aside from being called out by Kanye West for something onstage, Jay-Z also had the misfortune of his wife Beyonce outing him as a cheater in her popular 'Lemonade' release. BeyoncÃ© alludes to the fact that Jay-Z cheated on her. For years there has been speculation that Jay-Z had a roving eye, but there had never been any real allegations, that is until BeyoncÃ©'s album was released. Beyonce received a ton of free publicity for the album and video as people wondered who the mysterious woman was that Jay-Z was caught with. She has clearly forgiven her man for his cheating as they remain together, but the told friends the woman in the song was Rita Ora.

#12 Kanye West

Kanye believes he is Jesus reincarnated. He boasts about sitting on top of the world. That's why some were not phased over his bad 2016 and agreed it was karma finally coming around. After his wife was robbed, things seemed to go downhill for him. While on his "Life of Pablo" tour the singer started to act out in what appeared to be tantrums about his thoughts on politics. Some nights he wouldn't even perform, just rant on and on. He was a devout Trump supporter and would take his stage to rant about it, though people paid good money to hear his music. But, not only did he admit to not voting but during one performance he seemed to completely lose his mind and had to be carried off stage. Rumors have floated forever that he has a thing for singer Beyonce, though she is married to Jay-Z. His final appearance went like this, "I've been sent here to give y'all the truth. Jay-Z, call me, bruh! You still ain't call me! Jay-Z, call me! Jay-Z, I know you got killers, please don't send them at my head. Just call me! Talk to me like a man!" In the end, his tour was canceled, and he was hospitalized for psychosis.

#13 Leslie Jones

Leslie Jones is a comedian who is most known as an SNL actress. She's taken some serious heat this year however and developed quite a bit of haters in the process. She has a huge Twitter presence and even starred in the new and improved Ghostbusters. She provided comedy for the Rio Olympics but got beat down on social media because of it. She didn't even make it past the summertime before she considered her life a "personal hell." She can thank Milo Yiannopoulos for that as he went after her with his pack of wolves. Milo was on a personal mission to destroy the actress and started making fake Tweets from Leslie as well as writing reviews of Ghostbusters that were largely considered to be disgusting. Yiannopoulos was eventually banned from Twitter, but that didn't stop his fans from going after Jones. She was bashed relentlessly in the most racist of ways, making for a stressful and psychologically damaging year.
