Celebrities Who Have Aged the Worst

1) Meg Ryan

Truly America's Sweetheart for the '90s, Meg Ryan romped all over the romantic comedy scene for over a decade. Her signature golden locks, sweet smile, and shy looks made her the ultimate girl next door, the perfect girlfriend, the nice girl who deserves to get the guy in the end. And she usually did. From Sleepless in Seattle to When Harry Met Sally, Meg was the cute woman men wanted to bring home and introduce to their parents.

But Meg, like so many Hollywood actresses, fell into that black hole of "getting a little work done." Her collagen-blown lips changed shape from month to month for a while, and the plastic surgery she's had done has changed her face completely. No longer fresh faced and beautiful, now she looks hard, tacky, and lower-class. When thin becomes scrawny and your skin is stretched so tight it's shiny, you're trying too hard, girlfriend.

2) Melanie Griffith

When Tippi Hedron, the star of Hitchcock's The Birds is your mother, you're bound to come out with some beautiful potential. Melanie Griffith was lucky enough to show all that potential and more. The blonde beauty made her first commercial at nine months of age, and she's worked her entire life. Her long golden hair, perfect cheekbones, and shining skin made her a casting favorite for many roles, from the spunky secretary in Working Girl to a member of the upper class in Bonfire of the Vanities.

Like many Hollywood actresses, Griffith became a little bit too concerned about how aging was affecting her looks. Sad to say, she took the aging a little bit too seriously and started getting hooked on collagen injections, Botox, and plastic surgery. Put together a picture of her now and one from her film peak and it's hard to tell they're even the same woman. Too much work that went way too far has turned Melanie into something you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

3) Nick Nolte

Once a leading man of television and film, Nick Nolte began his career as a model, being named a Clairol Summer Blonde boy in the 1960s. He went on to play a series of leading man characters in the '70s through the '90s, always looking cool, blonde, and upper class. His patrician good looks made him an easy choice for the romantic parts, as well as any generic hero character that came along. Unfortunately, like many stars, Nolte started having problems with drugs and alcohol.

It's never a good mix, especially for anyone who relies on his looks to get a job. Nolte has spend the last fifteen years looking seedier and older, gaining weight and losing his once-great physique. His flyaway hair, now almost completely gray, spawned a comical meme with one of his mug shots, flying away from his head as if he'd been electrocuted. It's a slippery slope downhill, and Nolte's sitting on a saucer sled and spinning around.

4) Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer's dark blonde hair and almost perfect smile turned him into one of Hollywood's hottest properties during the height of his career in the '80s and '90s. From Jim Morrison and Doc Holliday to Bruce Wayne and Batman, Kilmer got a lot of the greatest action parts available while he was currently working. His body was in great shape and his face was poster-worthy and leading man handsome.

Now, not so much. It's not that he's gotten old, wrinkled, and gray. It's just that the Val Kilmer of today looks like he ate his old counterpart, he's so huge. Sporting a Meatloaf-lookalike hair style, the stringy locks go past his shoulders, and his scruffy beard looks more like he just forgot to shave for the past couple of days, instead of like anything on purpose. He's got a bad habit of showing up on beaches with his stomach hanging far over his pants, and his need for a man-bra creeping out the other beach goers.

5) Al Pacino

Smooth and suave as Michael Corleone in The Godfather, Al Pacino was viewed as one of the classically handsome men in Hollywood when he hit the big time in the 1970s. He spent most of his career playing mobsters, cops, and others occupying one extreme of the law or another. Pacino's dark good looks even won him an Oscar in 1992 for his portrayal of an older blind man in Scent of a Woman. Dog Day Afternoon, And Justice for All, and Serpico all shined as cinema classics, mostly due to his ability to smoothly portray both sides of the legal system.

Sadly, the handsome mobster of the last century has turned into a wrinkled and grizzled parody of himself, sporting an inappropriate goatee and overgrown hair that constantly needs styling. That constant leather coat might have looked cool in his Godfather days, but he should have retired it decades ago, along with the gold chains.

6) Jack Nicholson

This iconic actor has never been known as a romantic leading man, yet his good looks and striking eyes have captivated audiences for decades. Beginning in the 1960s, he made a series of low budget horror films, including the campy Little Shop of Horrors. He made it to the big time in Easy Rider, fixing his face into the public eye as the handsome bad boy. He's been nominated for Oscars in five different decades, in a variety of roles from cop to killer.

Early on in his career, Nicholson began to lose his hair. Unlike most vain stars, he decided not to cover it up but just to deal with it as it is. While admirable, this action did nothing for his looks. He's put on the pounds over the years, turning his once-thin physique Brando-esque. He's seen most often today sporting tinted sunglasses and open sport coats, resembling nothing more than an aging used-car salesman.

7) Lindsay Lohan

Getting hammered just isn't what it used to be. Lindsay Lohan was signed by a major modeling agency at the age of three, and was considered one of the classic cute kids in Hollywood the whole time she was growing up. Cast in one Disney movie after another, she broke into serious teen movie stardom with Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey. Shortly after this, Lohan began to have problems with drugs and alcohol, beginning to exhibit the symptoms of modern Hollywood bad-girl behavior.

Gone are the smooth cheeks, bright smile, and wide eyes. Between rampant drug and alcohol use and Lohan's reported Botox and collagen injections, she's turned herself into a bleach-blonde skank. The circles under her eyes are getting harder to cover up and the substance abuse has turned her skin into something resembling sandpaper. Discounting all that, her behavior makes her even uglier, between the entitled attitude and general lack of brains.

8) Keith Richards

Never having golden boy pop star looks, Keith Richards was nevertheless often considered the good looking one in the Rolling Stones. Not hard to do when you're singing next to Mick Jagger, but still. Plenty of women drooled over his long, thin face and thick brown hair, and his powerful voice made him even more attractive.

Richards is a walking advertisement for the debilitating effects drugs, alcohol, and hard living can have on a person's body. His nose has grown fleshy and his eyes have sunken into their sockets. While still thin, his once muscular arms are stringy, and his pants sag due to lack of a rear end. And then there are the wrinkles. If you threw a cotton shirt in a laundry basket and pulled it out four years later, it wouldn't have as many wrinkles as Richards does on his face. And we hate to tell him, but adding guyliner at the age of 70 really doesn't make you hip and cool, just strange and creepy.

9) Mark Hamill

Best known worldwide for his starring role as Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars trilogy, Mark Hamill began his acting career as a good looking leading man. He played a recurring role on General Hospital and had a regular role in Texas Wheelers before George Lucas cast him in the biggest part of his life. Portrayed as an eager young man, he gathered female fans by the million, who loved his boyish good looks.

10) Pamela Anderson

Was there a straight teenage boy in the last part of the 1990s who didn't watch Baywatch? All those taut bodies bouncing around in revealing red swimsuits as the lifeguards ran toward the waves. The actors were the stuff of fantasy, and none was more over-the-top than Pamela Anderson. With her big, bleach-blonde hair and overly enhanced breasts, this former Playboy Bunny captivated teens around the world.
