Celebrities Who Have Insane Criminal Backgrounds
#1 Will Smith
Will Smith was arrested in 1989 after being involved in an assault so serious one man was left nearly blind.
He was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and criminal conspiracy. However, the charges were later dismissed.
#2 Tim Allen
Tim Allen was arrested in 1978 at the age of 25 for possessing more than 650 grams of cocaine. He actually ended up going to prison as a result and served two and a half years.
He was later arrested in 1997 for driving under the influence and was sentenced to a year's probation as well as a period of alcohol rehab.
#3 Mark Wahlberg
When he was 16. Mark Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men with a wooden stick, leaving one of them blind in one eye.
He was charged with attempted murder, but pled guilty to assault and was sentenced to two years in prison, of which he served 45 days.
#4 Jay Z
Back in 1999, just as he was finding fame, Jay Z was involved in an altercation in a nightclub where he ended up stabbing a record executive in the stomach.
He pled guilty to an assault charge and got three years' probation.

Matthew McConaughey was arrested in 1999 and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a neighbor made a noise complaint.
The police found Matthew dancing naked at his home and claimed that after searching his house, they found illegal substances.
The drug charges were eventually dropped, but he pled guilty to the noise offense and paid a $50 fine.
#6 Vanilla Ice
Vanilla Ice has had several brushes with the law. He was arrested in 1991 on a firearm charge after threatening a homeless man with a pistol.
In 2001 he was arrested for assaulting his wife, admitting to pulling some of her hair out. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, was sentenced to probation and completed a run of family therapy sessions.
He was arrested for the third time in 2008 and charged with battery after allegedly kicking and hitting his wife. He was released the next day when his wife confirmed that he’d only pushed her. He was ordered to stay away from his wife, but later that year the case was dropped.

In 1994, aged 19, 50 Cent pleaded guilty to selling heroin and crack cocaine. He served six months in a boot camp prison.
Later, in 2002, he was sentenced to two years' probation for assault and battery.

Marilyn Manson was charged with sexual misconduct against a security officer, after being accused of rubbing his crotch against the man's head.
He was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and paid a $4,000 fine.

The actor was first arrested in 1989 for drunk driving, then again in 1997 for assaulting a girlfriend while intoxicated.
Slater was arrested yet again in 1997 after attempting to board a flight while in possession of a loaded gun.
And in 2005, Christian was charged with third-degree sexual assault after grabbing a woman's bum on the street.

Before he shot to fame, Bruno Mars was arrested in 2010 for cocaine possession.
He pled guilty, paid a $2,000 fine, completed 200 hours of community service and completed a course of drug counseling.

She may be perfectly preened and polished these days, but back in 2007 Khloe was arrested and sentenced to three years' probation after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
She went on to break the terms of her probation and was sentenced to 30 days in jail the following year, but only served three hours because of overcrowding.

Despite being one of the best boxers of recent years, Mike Tyson has flirted with illegal activity nearly all of his life. He was first arrested at 12 years old for swiping purses and since then has accumulated a rap sheet of over 40 arrests for everything from petty crimes to aggravated assault. He was also sentenced to six years in prison for raping an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant in 1992; however, he was released early in 1995 for good behavior. Tyson finally managed to turn his life around in 2011 and has, so far, managed to stay conviction free ever since.

American rapper Earl Simmons, known by his stage name DMX, has been arrested over a dozen times on charges ranging from illegal drug use, criminal impersonation, parole violation, and everything in between. His most notorious arrest occurred in 2004 after the rapper crashed his SUV through a parking lot gate at the Kennedy Airport in New York. Simmons then proceeded to tell the airport security that he was a government agent before going on to force a random driver out of their vehicle, claiming he was with the FBI.

Although he was acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman, mainly due to a mishandling of evidence, O. J. Simpson didn’t make a big effort of trying to avoid confrontations with the law. In 2007, he was caught breaking into a hotel room and taking sports memorabilia at gunpoint, an act that resulted in multiple charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, assault, and use of a deadly weapon. He was found guilty and sentenced to 33 years in prison.

It should come as no surprise that rap artist Snoop Dogg has been caught several times in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. However, before he began releasing music, the young rapper was in an out of prison for several years and was even an admitted gang member. In 1993, he and his bodyguard were connected to the murder of a rival gang member and brought to trial. Eventually, the shooting was ruled as self-defense, and Snoop Dogg was acquitted of all charges.

American actress Michelle Rodriguez was arrested in Hawaii while filming an episode of Lost in 2006 on the charges of driving under the influence. She received probation and community service; however, less than a year later, she had violated the conditions and faked service forms, resulting in 180 days of jail time.

Although Bill Cosby’s sexual assault allegations have gained a lot of publicity in recent years, they are certainly not new. His first account of rape occurred in 1965, although nobody came forward until the 1980’s. Since then, 59 women have accused the American entertainer of rape or sexual misconduct, with 44 of the cases involving drug use.

American R&B artist R. Kelly has been on the wrong side of the law for years now. #21 Brandy Norwood
Driving home on December 30, 2006, Norwood was involved in a fatal automobile collision on Los Angeles' San Diego Freeway. 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj was the driver of a Toyota which was struck by Norwood's Range Rover. Aboudihaj died from her injuries at the L.A. Holy Cross Hospital the following day.

In 1968, he was convicted of manslaughter after stabbing a man in a street fight. He got seven years in prison. Shortly after his release, he was convicted of possession of a deadly weapon and served a three-year sentence. While in prison he assaulted a corrections officer and was sentenced to an additional 7-1/2 years in prison. While serving his sentence he read a play that amused him so much he started a theatre group. To start the group he had to be attending school, and he had dropped out of school in the seventh grade. He not only took classes to finish his elementary school education but by the time he finished his sentence he had a two-year college degree.

On November 6, 1963, she ran to another car and killed her friend seventeen-year-old friend and classmate, Michael Dutton Douglas.

On December 8, 1984, he was driving a car drunk while it crashed and a passenger Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas Dingles aka Razzle was killed.
#25 Jayson Williams
In 2010, Williams pleaded guilty to assault in the accidental shooting death of a limousine driver. He served an 18-month prison sentence and was released in April 2012.
#26 Don King
King has been charged with killing two people in incidents 13 years apart. In 1954, King shot a man in the back after spotting him trying to rob one of King's gambling houses; this incident was ruled a justifiable homicide. In 1967, King was convicted of nonnegligent manslaughter for stomping one of his employees to death.For this, he served three years and eleven months in prison. After being released, he was later pardoned in 1983.
