A lady described how she saves money each year by not purchasing any presents for Christmas.
Cheapskate Steals Family Belongings Just To Give Them Back As Gifts On Christmas Day
A woman has revealed how she avoids buying any presents for Christmas each year, saving her hundreds of dollars.
Re-gifting is nothing new, but this takes it to a whole new level.
Sarah Grace Anderson, who was a guest on an Extreme Cheapskates episode on TLC, was overjoyed with her "hack" for cost-cutting over the holiday season.
She joyfully exclaims, "I love giving gifts," but there's a big catch.
"Throughout the year I take things from my family and they think that it's missing. Then on Christmas, I give it back to them as a gift."
It's a pretty clever plan, but it's also quite good.
In another clip, Florida native Sarah reveals the present she has in store for her sister: a set of sunglasses that she stole earlier this year.
"She's gonna be so happy to get them back!"
Another gift that Sarah has in mind for her sister is a bag that likewise went "missing" over the year. She will be overjoyed to see it return, Sarah, predicts.
Sarah's family is fully aware of her money-saving strategies, and when she gives her sister the wrapped gift, it's clear she expects to find one of her missing things hidden inside the wrapping paper.
After taking off the sunglasses, she exclaims, "Sarah, you cannot be serious!"
She is not only an "extreme cheapskate," but she also works to protect the environment. In order to prepare her gifts for the year, Sarah saves all the leftover and wasteful wrapping paper from the previous year, saving money and paper.
This is a clever plan that we can support.
“I spend nothing on my wrapping paper,” she reveals.
People are in awe of Sarah's money-saving intervention after it went viral on TikTok.
“Girl they got dollar tree,” on TikTok user commented. "Only $1(83p) for a cute DIY gift.”
Another user who didn't want their missing items to be regifted responded: “She’s not allowed at my house period!!”
A third person came to the conclusion: “I would rather get nothing than be stressed about losing something.”
While a fourth account shared: “I’d be mad ngl, I don’t spend money for something just to not be able to use it for months and then have someone to give it back as their own.”
According to one woman, Sarah is not the only one who has attempted to save money in this manner: “I did this to my family once, it was definitely funnier in my head.”
“The amount of confidence it takes to do that,” commented another TikToker.
And someone else quipped: “The way my bank account is looking I might do this.”
