Floyd Henderson - John Marshall Jones

TJ's father was a roofer who had a hard time understanding all of the science that TJ was always talking about, but he was always helpful when it came to teaching the life lessons at the end of each episode.

Jones has had a long career that started back in the 80s. He was a regular on Melrose Place before landing his role in Smart Guy. After, he was a regular on shows like Still Standing, The Troop, and John Doe. His career is still going strong. You have probably seen him on shows like Bosch and The Fosters.

Marcus Henderson - Jason Weaver

Did you know that he was the singing voice for Simba in The Lion King? He made a great impression on Smart Guy playing TJ's older brother who was always scheming for ways to use TJ's big brain to his advantage.

After the show ended, Weaver had roles in movies like Drumline, ATL, and The Ladykillers. His career has slowed down quite a bit. He had a part on Black-ish, but other than that, he has only had small roles here and there.

Mo - Omar Gooding

TJ might have been the brains, but Marcus was the leader. Mo was also the one to supply some of the show's funniest lines.

Omar Gooding is the younger brother of Cuba Gooding Jr. He had already been on shows like Hangin' With Mr. Cooper and Blossom before he was on Smart Guy. After the show, he had leading parts on the Barbershop TV series and Playmakers. His latest sitcom, Family Time, recently ended, so you can expect to see more from him in the near future.

Mackey - J.D. Walsh

Walsh's first big break was his role as dimwitted Mackey. Since, he has had parts in the Tremors TV series and Dharma and Greg. He has mostly had small television and movie roles, he was a regular on Two and a Half Men and played a scientist in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Coach Gerber - Dann Florek

Dan Florek has had an interesting and long career as an actor. His role as the gym teacher on Smart Guy is just one highlight from his career. He was also the principal on Roseanne and was a regular on LA Law. He was playing his role as Captain Donald Cragen on Law & Order while playing Coach Gerber. He then went on to play Captain Donald Cragen on the spin-off show, Law & Order Special Victims Unit.

Leslie / Monique - Taraji P. Henson

Yes, keep your eyes peeled for the future Empire star during the third season, when she plays one of Marcus's love interests in a pair of episodes. She actually appeared in a second season episode too, as a different character. Her role on Smart Guy was her fifth, after taking parts on shows like Saved By The Bell: The New Class and ER.

Tasha Henderson - Essence Atkins

Playing TJ's older sister, she was the voice of reason in the Henderson house. However, she still took a little advantage of her little brother when his smarts could work to her own advantage. After Smart GUy was over, she had small roles on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Moesha before starring on the show Half and Half.

She has also been on shows like Are We There Yet? and Mr. Box Office. She even has a role in the movie How High. Lately, she has paired up with Marlon Wayans for projects like Haunted House and his sitcom Marlon.

TJ - Tahj Mowry

This ten-year-old genius was the heart of the show, but he could not stay young forever which is why the show only lasted a couple of seasons. Tahj has had a pretty impressive career since the show ended. He was the voice of Wade on Kim Possible and starred in the Disney Channel movie Seventeen Again. His career has slowed down some lately, but he did star in the show Baby Daddy that ended this past year.
