In the wake of an inquiry into officer Maegan Hall, who had engaged in sexual actions with coworkers while on duty, the police head of the La Vergne Police Department has been fired.

After investigators discovered that Chief Burrel "Chip" Davis was aware of the sexual misbehavior occurring in his department but did nothing about it, he resigned from his position this week.

At least five additional La Vergne Police Department officers have also been fired in addition to Maegan Hall, 26 after it was discovered that they had been sharing explicit pictures and engaging in sexual activity with Hall whether on or off duty.

An internal investigation into Maegan's suspected sexual misbehavior with other officers was started in December 2022.

Among the male cops engaged in the affair were Officer Juan Lugo-Perez, Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan, Sgt. Lewis Powell, and Detective Seneca Shields.

Maegan had "engaged in a sexual relationship" with two of the policemen "while on duty and inside the city-owned property," it was alleged during the probe.

According to the findings of a third-party investigator, Police Chief Davis not only knew about the sexual misconduct but also tried to delay the initial inquiry into Hall and her coworkers.

Davis allegedly "permitted - if not encouraged - conduct that could be contrary to state and federal law," according to a statement from the city.

While the city searches for a more long-term replacement, Deputy Chief Brent Hatcher will fill in for Davis.

Speaking on the catastrophic La Vergne PD scandal's most recent development, Mayor Jason Cole said: "There aren’t words to describe the disappointment and frustration felt by myself and other city leaders.

"Officers are held to a higher standard, even more so is their chief."

He continued: "We take the health, safety, and well-being of every employee at La Vergne extremely seriously and a culture similar to the one uncovered in these investigations is not acceptable.

"We will continue to do what needs to be done in order to do what’s right for our officers, our city employees, and our community."

Officer Maegan Hall has disputed the initial investigation's allegation that she had a three-way with Officer Patrick Magliocco and his wife.

Additionally, it was discovered that while sergeant Powell was on duty, Hall had engaged in oral sex with him "in the Police Gym and behind the Police Station."

Hall first denied any misconduct, but then admitted to mailing cops nude photos and engaging in sexual activity with others.
