#1 Crystal meth surprise

A 6-year-old boy got a shock, and probably disappointment, after discovering drugs inside a Kinder Surprise container instead of a toy.

As much as kids love sweets, the best part of a Kinder Surprise isn't the chocolate but the capsule inside which holds a new toy.

But one little boy got a disturbing surprise when he opened what he thought would be a Kinder Surprise toy.

He broke open the container and astonishingly there was a bag of white powder.

Thankfully the boys from Belfast handed their find over to their family, who gave it to police. The powder in the toy egg was later identified as drugs.

#2 Found hidden: The boys found the Kinder Suprise hidden

According to the Daily Star, the six-year-old was with his eight-year-old brother when he spotted the familiar yellow plastic shell which usually contains a toy in a hedge.

After testing, police were able to confirm the substance was the terrifying Class A drug methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth or ice - a highly addictive drug that could have caused the youngsters serious harm if it had been ingested.

Limavady DUP councillor Alan Robinson said as a father he knew how enticing Kinder eggs and their contents were to children and believed it to was lucky the children didn't swallow the powder.

#4 ‘A deeply concerning incident’

The Police Service of Northern Ireland Inspector Colin Shaw said the "incident is of the uppermost concern for all of us".

"The contents of the bag, which was found inside a toy egg, is believed to be methamphetamine," he told the Belfast Telegraph.

"The possibility that something so potentially dangerous has been discarded where children could find it is deeply concerning.

"We work continually with partners in education, youth provision and health services to educate young people about the dangers of drugs and to deter them from becoming involved in drugs."

Fortunately, the children were smart enough to take the powder to their dad, because it could have been a very scary and sad situation if they had decided to taste it.
