A man named Chen in China planned a robbery to avoid marrying his sweetheart in order to escape being detained by the authorities. The man staged a robbery at a dancing class on Shanghai's Huashan Road. He allegedly stole a Bluetooth device worth $287 from the studio.

The police apparently followed him down and arrested him for robbery; however, during questioning, the officers were astounded to learn the rationale for the man's conduct.

Chen told officers at the Xinhua Road Police Station that his girlfriend wanted to marry him, but he had been hesitant for some time. As a result, he devised a strategy to get rid of her and intended to be jailed in order to change her mind.

According to sources, he wanted his fiancee to know about his arrest, so she called off their wedding. The individual is reportedly being held in custody while the police confirm the facts; nevertheless, the alleged thief will not be detained for long because he committed a minor violation.
