Christmas Day Shooting Claims The Lives Of A Mother And Her Two Children

Milan Ross if a 45-year-old chef, author, and motivational speaker. He is best known for claiming that his vegan diet is solely responsible for his dramatic weight loss. On the day after Christmas, he was charged with first-degree murder after killing his estranged wife and two children on Christmas day.

His wife, Iris Ross who was 38-years-old, was found dead outside of an apartment complex in Phoenix before Milan Ross barricaded himself inside the home with their two children, 11-year-old Nigel and 10-month-old Anora.

Ross exchanged gunfire with the police before they swarmed the residence and arrested him after a six-hour standoff. One officer was hit by some shrapnel, and Ross was taken into custody without injury. Police later found the two children dead inside the home.

Iris Ross' sister said that she got a text message from Ross stating that he had just killed Iris and his two children with a gun. "I knew that man was very unstable. I knew he had a very, very dark side...I didn’t know it was this dark," Mary Wogas said.

Ross also had prior felony arrests on his record. The motive for this killing is unclear, and the police are investigating this incident as a domestic violence incident.

The timing of these deaths is what is most bizarre about this sad story. Just a few hours earlier, Ross had posted a happy video showing him laughing and singing with his son. He stated, "Hey guys, I’m smiling and I’m hanging out with Nigel on Christmas Eve. We’re going to embarrass ourselves! We’re going to sing." The pair happily sang "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town" before the young boy was reduced to giggle fits.

Ross is known professionally as Milan Ross. He was born and raised in the Midwest where most of his family suffered from obesity. After finding a plant-based diet, he says that he lost over 300 pounds. In a recent interview, he told his local news channel that he was committed to losing weight for his son after he was turned away at a ride at Universal Studios almost four years ago because of his size. He weighed over 500 pounds at the time and the situation made his son cry. It was that moment that made him decide he needed a change. Milan has shared his story through two books and even ended up on a magazine cover plus made an appearance in a documentary that also featured James Cameron and Samuel L. Jackson.

It is unclear as to why Ross totally snapped this Christmas day. All we can do is pray for his family at this most difficult time in their lives.
