Many people associate death with sadness and depression. However, this grandmother had a different approach to it and her parting gift for her family was a cool and funny gift to put one last smile on their faces.
Gracie Perryman, a cheeky grandmother with a great sense of humor has managed to leave her family behind with a smile on their faces after arranging ouija boards to be distributed at her funeral.
Perryman's family received the final parting gift from her grandmother Jodie after attending her farewell in Breckenridge, Texas.
Jodie, who died of cancer at age 81, had quite the sense of humor, according to her granddaughter.
It was no surprise for the family when they received a card containing an ouija board with the words 'Let's keep in touch!'.
And if that wasn't legendary enough, the brazen grandma also included a photo of herself with her tongue out while she put up her middle fingers.
Well, talk about going out with a style!
Gracie, who described Jodie as a ‘firecracker’, who 'could outwit anyone’ told the outlet: "It was hysterical, and everybody was like, of course, that's so Jodie of her."
She told TODAY: "She was hilarious.
"She had a great sense of humour and a huge heart.
"She loved her family. And she just took care of people around her. She was a great woman."
A lot of people these days ask their families to arrange funerals that are not sad and depressing. Instead, they ask their families to celebrate their life with colors and laughter.
One woman's send-off at Witton Cemetery in Birmingham earlier this year certainly appeared to be that and more.
Mourners gathered at the British cemetery to farewell a woman known only as Katty.
A DJ set up his turntables in the middle of the graveyard and started busting out some heavy beats for everyone gathered.
Mourners who were dressed in black were seen smiling and dancing around the graves as loud music pumped out from the portable speakers.
Some people praised the funeral organisers for putting on a fun send-off for Katty.
One person commented: "What a lovely tribute, I'm sure Katty would be smiling down. Nice to see a proper celebration of someone's life."
Another added: "Rip my friend #katty you had a send off like no other #weloveyou"
A third person wrote: "A beautiful and fun-filled way to say goodbye to a loved one. Bringing your own DJ is brilliant too. What a send off."
A different user said: "This looks like the most fun funeral ever. I'm sure your friend Katty would be proud."
But not everyone was impressed with this style of funeral.
Many pointed out that they were not impressed with people partying around a place that was meant to be treated with respect.
A person who viewed the video wrote: "Na I don’t rate it, look how many peoples graves get stepped on."
Another put: "Kinda f***ry still when old Ethel turns up to water her late husbands flowers only to find 30 man strong stomping on her orchids."
A third added: "Everyone deserves a good send off, but levels of disrespect shown to others already at rest there feels real uncomfortable.
