Johnny Depp has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard after new evidence has come to light on their allegedly abusive relationship.
We’ve already told you about the many ups and downs of the Amber Heard & Johnny Depp relationship.
After rumours of her being fired from the Aquaman franchise came to light, fans were quick to jump to conclusions
One such conclusion was that Emilia Clarke would be the one replacing her in the movies.
This rumour was fueled mainly by the petition that 1.8 million fans had signed calling for Amber Heard to be fired form the project.
Although a reporter from Hollywood Reported claimed that the rumours were ‘inaccurate’ there is little you can do to stop a rumour mill once it has taken steam.
Even though Johnny Depp lost his first legal battle with the Daily Mail after they called him a ‘Wife Beater’, Johnny received overwhelming support from fans.
This was after an audio was leaked by TMZ
After fans took a full 180 and came to Johnny’s side, he was overwhelmed by their support.
While the news of Amber Heard being fired from the Aquaman franchise may still be rumours, they might actually become true, if Amber Heard loses her legal battle with Johnny Depp.
When Amber Heard first divorced Johnny Depp, her claims of abuse had a real-world impact, with Johnny picking up the pieces of his reputation, losing jobs and facing general hatred from the public that loved him until then.
Johnny played a reverse uno card on Amber once the court of public opinion ruled in his favour and has now filed a defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard.
If the court rules in Johnny Depp’s favor, Amber could end up paying millions in damages or face jail time of up to three years.
It seems unlikely that Aquaman 2 would push its release date by three years, since it has been announced for a December 2022 release.
