Featuring their new beauty product, 'trublend,' Covergirl has opted a unique and a positive means of conveying their message of beauty positivity. Their new TV ad stares a model Amy Deanna who has a skin condition vitiligo. In this condition, the skin loses pigmentation on several parts of the body, making it appear in different tones and shades. The condition is very common and does not pose any serious health issues.

The commercial is launched as part of company's campaign #IAmWhatIMakeUp. Deanna is the first ever model with vitiligo to stare in a beauty campaign and she wishes that other girls like her will also be accepted in the beauty industry and will be given equal opportunities without their skin condition coming as a barrier in their passion.

The company tweeted on their official account about the #IAmWhatIMakeUp campaign and stated that the campaign celebrates the power to be who you are and who you want to be. Deanna could be remarkably seen applying truBlend foundation in two different shades in the video and says, "Why try to blend in when you can choose to stand out?"

#4 Idea Behind The AD Is Brilliant

The idea behind the ad is both brilliant and clever as it serves multiple purposes that is, promoting the beauty product of different tones in one person and at the same time is giving the message of beauty positivity.

In her interview, Deanna opened up about her working with Covergirl and according to the model she found the whole experience very positive and is actually proud of the collaboration, "Representation is important. Inclusivity is important—not just for people of different backgrounds and ethnicities, but also people of all sizes. That’s why I was so excited to partner with CoverGirl on this project. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Let’s face it, together we are a mosaic—that in itself is beautiful. We should celebrate that."

Adding to it, Deanna says growing up, Queen Latifah on TV as a CoverGirl was her inspiration, "I believe that inclusiveness will challenge unrealistic beauty standards within the beauty industry and in humanity. I remember seeing Queen Latifah on TV as a CoverGirl when I was young. That was so inspiring. I can’t express how excited I am to say, I too have had the opportunity to work with CoverGirl."

A number of celebrities including Michael Jackson, Terrence J, model Winnie Harlow, Joe Rogan and Holly Marie Combs are suffering from the disease. According to the American Academy Of Dermatology, vitiligo causes the person to loses its skin pigment, resulting in lighter skin patches on certain parts of the body.
