Tyler Brodsky said the confrontation began during a bathroom stop with his two young daughters
A father’s routine bathroom stop with his two young daughters turned into a viral confrontation after a man began yelling at him inside a women’s restroom.
Tyler Brodsky, who was the dad at the center of the tense exchange, later posted footage of the incident on TikTok. The clip spread fast, with many viewers criticizing the angry customer’s "male Karen" behavior.
"He came in screaming and hollering," Tyler said, describing how quickly the situation changed while he was still helping his children.

The customer’s reaction did not end at the restroom door. After millions of people watched the video online, Overstreet Properties fired the man, who had been working with the company as an independent contractor.
The footage showed him yelling at Tyler Brodsky and his two daughters, and the company later made it clear that it did not want to be connected to the behavior shown in the clip.
Overstreet Properties, a real estate firm based in Starkville, Mississippi, said it was "aware of videos" showing one of its independent contractors yelling at the Brodsky family.
The company’s response came after the video had already picked up major attention, turning what happened inside a gas station restroom into a wider online backlash.
The reaction was strong because many viewers saw the confrontation as more than an argument over which restroom should be used. Tyler was traveling alone with two young children and said he was trying to make the safest choice in the moment.
For parents, that detail mattered. A quick bathroom break can become complicated when one parent is alone with children of a different gender, especially in a busy public place.
"The conduct depicted in the video does not reflect the values of Overstreet Properties or the standards we expect of those who represent our organization," the company wrote in a statement.
"Our focus remains on providing quality service to our clients, partners, and community," they continued.
"The individual depicted in the video is no longer associated with Overstreet Properties."
Tyler Brodsky said the customer came in "screaming and hollering" while he was helping his daughters
Tyler later explained that the stop happened while he was driving from Florida back to Oklahoma with his girls.
He pulled into a QuikTrip in Alabama for what should have been a normal bathroom break, but the moment became stressful once the other customer entered and started shouting.
Tyler revealed that he was driving from Florida back to Oklahoma when he decided to pull up for a routine bathroom break at a QuikTrip in Alabama.
Before taking his two little girls into the women’s restroom, Tyler said he knocked and announced that he was coming in.
He said the restroom was empty at the time, so he entered with his daughters rather than sending them in alone or taking them into the men’s restroom.
That choice became the reason the other man confronted him, even though Tyler said he was simply trying to look after his children.
"I knocked and announced that I'm coming in with two girls, which, at this time, the bathroom was empty," he said on Fox & Friends First.
Within moments, the man opened the restroom door and began shouting at Tyler, telling him he needed to leave.
"This guy comes in, starts yelling, demanding that we need to leave, I should have taken them to the men's restroom, which I disagreed with," he said, explaining that the customer believed Tyler should have taken the girls into the men’s restroom instead.
"He kept escalating it. He kept yelling at us — on the phone with the police," Tyler said
The man appeared to be speaking to someone on the phone while also continuing to scold Tyler inside the restroom.
Between parts of the phone call, he kept turning his attention back to the father and his daughters, making the situation more tense while the children were still there.
The customer also claimed that his wife and "very ill" mother-in-law were the ones who had told him about the father being in the restroom.
Tyler stayed calm during the confrontation and started recording what was happening. At the same time, he continued helping his daughters at the bathroom sink rather than reacting to the man’s shouting.
"He kept escalating it. He kept yelling at us — on the phone with the police," Tyler told KFOR.
His account focused less on arguing back and more on keeping control of the moment while his children were nearby.
"He was being pretty aggressive, so I didn't know what was going to happen there," he went on to say. "So, I just wanted to make sure it was all documented for my safety, my kids' safety."
One of Tyler’s daughters could be seen crying while the "male Karen" kept yelling. Tyler continued helping her wash her hands, trying to keep the situation from becoming even more upsetting for the girls.
Tyler’s TikTok video of the exchange reached 25 million views
Tyler said his main concern was his children’s safety, so he focused on staying calm and not doing anything that might "escalate the matter" further.
The clip later gained about 25 million views on TikTok, where many people praised him for keeping his composure while the man shouted nearby.
"I'm with my girls, and they were already scared … I wanted to be there for them and let them know that nothing is going to happen, and that's really all I had on my mind was my girls, you know?" he said.
The angry customer eventually left the restroom area. A QuikTrip employee then closed the door and apologized to Tyler for what had happened.
"I am so sorry," the employee said as she grabbed paper towels for the girls.
Tyler said he stayed at the QuikTrip until police officers arrived, rather than leaving while the situation was still unresolved.
The officers spoke with him and his daughters and assured them they had not done anything wrong.
"The police officers came and talked to my girls, and made sure that they felt safe and reassured them that there was no danger, that [the police] were there to protect them," Tyler said.
"It's really going to put a good image of police officers for my girls growing up."
For Tyler, that response mattered because his daughters had just watched a frightening situation unfold in a place where they should have felt safe.
Tyler and his daughters waited at QuikTrip until police arrived
Tyler said he felt more comfortable taking his daughters into the women’s restroom than bringing them into the men’s restroom.
That choice is one many solo dads understand, especially when they are traveling with young children and need to make a quick decision in a public place.
"I've personally been in men's restrooms. I just didn't feel like it was a good place to take two little girls," he added.
Tyler said he shared the footage online because he did not want other fathers to face the same kind of harassment or threats while helping their daughters use a restroom.
"It's a scary thing for little girls, so I tried to just do the best I could in the moment and keep them calm. But they're doing well now," he told Fox & Friends First.
Tyler later set up a GoFundMe page to support his family, create "positive content," cover "travel and media-related expenses, and build "a more secure future" for his daughters."
The page has so far raised just over $950 toward its $3,000 goal.
The fundraiser added another layer to the story, as many viewers had already seen the video as a reminder of how hard public spaces can be for parents traveling alone with young kids.
The restroom confrontation became so widely discussed because it centered on a simple but real problem: what a father should do when his young daughters need help in a public restroom.
Tyler’s answer was that he did what felt safest at the time. The online reaction, the company’s statement, and the police response all turned that small travel stop into a much bigger conversation about common sense, safety, and how people treat families in public.
