#1 She Thought She Was An Expert On Child Abuse

Desiree Lablanc thought she knew what she was doing when it came time to find a suitable babysitter for her new baby girl. After all, she was a child abuse investigator for the Child Protective Service. She had seen hundreds of cases of child abuse and was trained to spot things that others wouldn't.

#2 She Hired A Family Friend

When Desiree met in home daycare provider Christina Williamson she did her research. Williamson had been referred by a family friend who knew her husbands family. She met with Christina and her home was immaculate, she was well organized and very attentive. She hired her to begin caring for her baby daughter and eight-year-old son.

#3 The Abuse Began On The First Day

What the two women did not know was that Desiree's husband, whom she was divorcing, had set up surveillance cameras throughout the home because his son had said that he thought Christina Williamson was behaving strangely.

#4 The Husband Discovers The Abusive Babysitter

The husband viewed the tapes and immediately notified authorities. The videos show that Christina grabbed the sleeping baby by the arm, flinging her into the air, then holding her head to the floor roughly. At several times she pushed the child's head to the floor and folds her body almost in half with pressure.

Williamson was placed in a very different kind of day care. She was initially charged with four counts but took a plea and was then charged with felony child endangerment and one count of aggravated misdemeanor child abuse. She plead guilty to both charges in court but had to give a full account of every abuse on the tapes to the courtroom as it was played on the screen in front of the parents and the community.

#8 She Handled The Bay Roughly

She told the court and judge, "I handled A.N. roughly and N.R. roughly to the point that you could tell there might have been potential injury." She explained fully how she simply yanked the baby as it slept for no reason other than to make it cry.

#9 She Explains Her Actions As A Mental Issue

All of the abuse is unprovoked and the judge makes it clear that they are just being normal kids. He has no sympathy for Christina as she tried to explain her actions on mental instability. The abuse caused Desiree Leblanc to quit her job at Child Protective Services because she believed that she could not see it in her own home so she was unable to rely on her instincts to protect other children from harm.

#10 Sentenced To Five Years In Prison

At the sentencing, Christina is forced to listen to the parents of her victims talk about the hell she had put them through. She is also instructed to apologize to the Lablanc family, where she simply says 'I'm sorry for every minute of pain that I have caused you."

The judge then tells her that watching the films was 'just sickening." and that the parents trusted her to care for 'the most precious thing that they have'. He sentenced her to five years in prison which she is currently serving and is not allowed early parole.
