Apple Cinnamon Sugar Scrub

1 C. Coconut Oil

1½ C. Sugar

1 Medium sized Apple (or Chamomile Essential Oil)

Cinnamon Extract (located in the baking aisle near the spices)

4-5 4 oz. Jelly Jars

Sprinkle of Cinnamon Powder

Instructions

Using a small paring knife cut the apple into smaller chunks and puree in a blender or food processor until it is smooth and set aside.

In a medium size bowl, combine the coconut oil, sugar, apple mixture and 1-2 drop of cinnamon extract (a lot goes a long way) Sprinkle a few shakes of Cinnamon Powder and mix well.

Add the scrub to Jelly jars.

Print and cut out the labels and place on the lid; the metal ring will hold the label in place. **For a more rustic look, you could also use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top of the label look through with twine and tie around the lid.

Makes 4-5 4 oz. Jelly jars. The recipe can also be made smaller or larger depending on how much you would like to make.

Scrub needs to be refrigerated and will last for about 2 weeks in the fridge.

If there is any separation simply stir the mixture.

For soft skin, use scrub on hands, elbows and feet. Rinse well.

Gardener’s Hand Scrub

Materials:

1 lemon

1 tbsp olive oil

2/3 3/4 cup granulated sugar (I used demerara for a rougher texture.)

Directions:

Put the granulated sugar in a small bowl.

Zest the entire lemon.

Cut the lemon in half and juice one half of it.

Remove any seeds and put the zest and lemon juice in with the sugar.

Add 1 tbsp olive oil. You can add a little bit more if it's too dry but you don't want it to be liquid.

Mix well. To use rub a quarter sized amount between your hands and rinse under hot water.

Store in the refrigerator between uses.

Now that you have a gardener's hand scrub, head out to the garden and tackle those weeds!

Coconut Oil Salt Scrub With Rosemary And Mint

Supply List:

1 c sea salt

1/3 c coconut oil

1-2 tsp peppermint extract or 5-10 drops oil

5-10 drops rosemary

1/4 c jojoba oil (or any other oil you have on hand-sweet almond oil, vitamin e, olive)

dried and chopped mint and rosemary (if you only have fresh herbs, dry them in the microwave for 30 seconds between paper towels)

With your salt in a bowl, add all of the other ingredients, setting aside half of your jojoba oil. Mix until everything is incorporated. I find it's easiest to mix with my hands, and the bonus is your hands will feel awesome when you're done. You want all the salt to be covered with oil but not sloppy or wet. Add more jojoba oil as needed.

Store in an airtight container and happy scrubbing!
