A few days ago, This man found himself with some spare time and quickly knocked together a poster to celebrate the Lunar New Year on Monday, when the zodiac calendar will herald the “Year of the Monkey.” The poster took an hour to make, and Zhang casually uploaded it to WeChat to see what friends thought of it.

#1 This is Lehu Zhang, a Chinese graphic designer who lives and works in San Francisco. Monday, February 8th was Chinese New Year's day, and Zhang designed a poster to celebrate the Year of the Monkey.
#2 This is the poster Zhang designed.
Now, it's very possible you might look at this and just see a monkey. However, it's also equally possible you're looking at this and seeing, well, please don't make me say it.

#3 So do you, like, see a resemblance or anything? Because I don't. What I see is very, very inappropriate.
I can't be the only one with a dirty mind here...
#4 And thankfully, I'm not. The poster has gone viral, and people have taken to Twitter to make their thoughts on the poster known.
Still early in the year, and people are already calling it the "#designfail of the year."

#5 It took some people a little bit longer to reach the same conclusion...
...But the image has eventually gone on to penetrate the imaginations of people all over Twitter.

#6 Mostly, the poster has been pretty confusing to the Twitter-verse.
Zhang acknowledged that he can now see "some sexual things" in the work, but swears he didn't intend that. "I'm not angry," he told. "I'm just a little bit surprised, a little bit worried."

#7 Not everyone agreed with the #designfail. Some people actually loved its minimalism.
What do you think? Brilliant design or total #designfail?
