#1 It's shockingly good for you!

There's one simple thing in life that you can do to really help yourself. Anyone can do it. It cost no money, all it takes is time. Shockingly, it's also the one thing that most American's would rather be electrocuted than to do.

#2 Go it alone!

Despite the current social stigma, being alone is actually very good for you. Taking "me" time for just 10 to 15 minutes a day actually helps you way more than you would think. So before you electrocute yourself here's some things being alone helps you with!

#3 Get rid of that anxiety and depression.

We all have this concept that if you spend any time alone you're going to become sad and withdrawn and a social wreck. It's actually the other way around. Taking the time out to just be alone actually helps people to deal with those emotions, in moderation of course. This is especially the case with teens. There's a reason they're all alone in their rooms.

#4 Get productive!

Time to get to work! Being alone boosts your ability to work through problems and to become more creative. It also gives you a fresh perspective and helps to improve your memory and focus. Talk about a boost!

#5 Get rid of the stress!

No brainer here, being alone to do things you like to do without worrying about everyone else's feelings actually is good for relieving stress... who would have thought.

#6 Get yourself straight!

When you're alone you learn a lot about who you are. Strengths, weakness, nerves, likes and dislikes all get discovered. We spend a lot of time worrying about what someone else thinks about us and getting to know everyone else. Being alone gives you time to get to know you.

#7 How to do it!

Take some time every day to just do something you want to do all by yourself. Even if you're a super hectic mom with everything and everyone on your plate, lock the bathroom door and take a thirty-minute bath if possible. We need time to ourselves. That simple.
