While Noah Schnapp's Instagram following has skyrocketed since he revealed her direct messages online, Doja Cat's has recently experienced a slight decline.

In case you missed it, the odd couple has been making news since last week after Doja contacted the Stranger Things actor to ask him how to DM Joseph Quinn, who portrays Eddie Munson on the Netflix series.

The 17-year-old gave Quinn's information gladly, but he also shared images of their private conversation on TikTok in a since-deleted video named "thirsty Doja."

The singer, whose true name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, has been quite open about her adoration for Quinn, but she wasn't thrilled when the Will Byers actor shared their private chats.

She claimed in a TikTok live video that she hoped they could be "chill about it" because he was just "a kid," but that his behavior was "borderline snake s**t" and "weasel s**t."

While a lot of people concur with Doja and believe that Schnapp should never have posted about their exchange online, a lot of people disagreed with how she handled the situation, and their social media statistics appear to support the latter opinion.

The Stranger Things star's Instagram following increased from 24.25 million on Wednesday, July 7, to 25.17 million as of yesterday, according to Social Blade, which measures social media statistics and analytics.

That is a gain of almost a million followers since the entire saga began.

Contrarily, Doja's user base decreased by slightly over 200k over the same period, from 24.34 million to 24.14 million.

The celebrity claimed that it felt like "a weird power play" in her TikTok live broadcast and that she had already spoken to Schnapp about it.

Many admirers expressed their displeasure in the comments section of a recent video about the hitmaker going after a teenager.

“Leave Noah alone,” wrote one user, while another said, "UR GETTING MAD AT A KID.”

“It ain’t that deep with Noah Schnapp, Doja, it was a joke,” added a third.

Doja appeared to address the drama in a tweet on Friday, writing: “Y’all are so cringe and lame and nobody wants to hang w u that’s why y’all be on here unironically writing replies to s**t that makes you mad.”
