Donald Trump Jr. is facing serious backlash after sharing what many are calling a 'vile' reaction to Joe Biden's recent cancer diagnosis.

Often referred to as Don Jr., the former president's oldest son stirred outrage online after making a questionable comment about Biden's health news.

On Sunday, May 18, Biden’s office publicly announced that the 82-year-old had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The condition was described as aggressive, with a Gleason score of nine (Grade Group 5), and had already spread to his bones.

Since the news broke, people from across the political spectrum have been offering their well-wishes to Biden. Even Donald Trump expressed support.

But Don Jr. seemed to miss the tone completely. Instead of joining in the messages of support, he took to social media to throw shade aimed not just at Biden, but at his wife, Jill.

He wrote: "What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???"

The 47-year-old, who serves as a trustee and executive vice president at the Trump Organization, didn’t stop there. He also backed a post that accused Biden of being 'a vegetable running the country in secret'.

That remark added fuel to the fire, with dozens of people speaking out, calling Don Jr.'s behavior offensive and inappropriate.

"Mocking a man's cancer and blaming his wife, who's not even a medical doctor, shows just how low and shallow he is. 'Stage five'? It's Grade Group 5, bonehead." another user responded. "This isn't politics. It's cruelty. Ugly, dumb, and vile. Nothing else to call it."

Many people pointed out that Jill Biden holds a doctorate in education and isn’t a medical doctor, so criticizing her made little sense. One person even joked: "But you don't have to be a medical doctor to diagnose Donald Trump Jr. terminally stupid and a vile human being."

Another person called out Don Jr. for trying to turn a medical issue into political gain, saying it was nothing but 'shameless opportunism dressed up as patriotism.'

"You are slime. Absolute slime." wrote another frustrated commenter.

Harry Sisson, a known Democratic campaigner, also weighed in and said: "Donald Trump Jr. just made fun of President Biden's cancer diagnosis. This is where we're at in American politics. Trump Jr. is a pathetic, reprehensible conman who wouldn't know decency if it smacked him in the face. Shame on him."

Interestingly, Don Jr. had shared a more respectful image just hours earlier that read: "BREAKING: Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery!"

He captioned that post with: "Agreed 100 percent."

Biden’s health had already become a major talking point during last year’s campaign. Concerns about his stamina grew louder after a televised 90-minute debate with Trump.

In response to those concerns, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a statement at the time, denying that Biden had Alzheimer’s or any similar cognitive condition.

Eventually, Biden stepped down from the campaign and passed the torch to then Vice President Kamala Harris. But she ultimately lost the race to Trump.

Regarding the cancer, Biden’s team confirmed the diagnosis was of Grade Group 5, which is the most aggressive kind of prostate cancer. However, they also noted that it’s hormone-sensitive, which gives doctors a clearer path toward treatment and management.

Don Jr.’s controversial remarks came shortly after former President Barack Obama posted a heartfelt message that said: "Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family."

President Trump even sent a message of support to his former political rival BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI/AFP via Getty Images

"Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace."

"We pray for a fast and full recovery."

President Donald Trump also offered kind words, writing: "Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis."

"We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery."
